If oil is to be taken, it is generally only through direct liquid separation, because the density of oil is small, and water is rarely mixed upward into oil under the influence of its own gravity.

Working principle of oil-water separator of diesel generator set:

1. The oily sewage is sent to the oil-water separator by the sewage pump. After passing through the diffusion nozzle, large particle oil droplets float on the top of the left oil collecting chamber.

2. The sewage containing small oil droplets enters the corrugated plate coalescer in the lower part, where the oil droplets in the polymerization part form larger oil droplets to the right oil collecting chamber.

3. The sewage containing oil droplets with smaller particles passes through the fine filter, the impurities in the water go out and enter the fiber polymerizer in turn, so that the small oil droplets are aggregated into larger oil droplets and separated from water.

4. After separation, the clean water is discharged through the discharge port, the dirty oil in the left and right oil collecting chambers is automatically discharged through the solenoid valve, and the dirty oil separated from the fiber polymerizer is discharged through the manual valve.

How to replace the oil-water separator?

In order to make our Cummins genset better use fuel oil, the unit is equipped with an oil-water separator before leaving the factory. It is a vessel for removing impurities and water based on the density difference between water and fuel oil and the principle of gravity sedimentation. There are also separation elements such as diffusion cone and filter screen inside. Its use brings convenience to users. However, the convenience also brings a little trouble, that is, the problem that the oil-water separator needs to be replaced after being used for a long time. 1. Open the open water valve and drain some fuel.

2. Remove the filter element and the ponding cup together according to the counterclockwise direction of the thread, and then remove the ponding cup from the filter element.

3. Carefully clean the water cup and oil ring. Attention must be paid to the quality of water cup and oil ring. The quality of diesel engine accessories from regular generator manufacturers has been tested.

4. Apply a thin layer of oil to the oil ring with grease or fuel, install a new filter element on the water cup, and then tighten it by hand. Here, it is specially reminded that in order to avoid damaging the water cup and filter element, please do not use any tools during tightening.

5. Similarly, apply a thin layer of oil to the oil ring on the top of the filter element with grease or fuel, then install the ponding cup and the filter element into the joint, and tighten it by hand.

6. In order to eliminate the air in the filter element, start the oil filling pump at the top of the filter until oil seeps from the filter

7. Start Cummins generator set to check whether there is leakage. If there is leakage, shut down and eliminate it.
