The startup battery of 300kW diesel generator set plays an important role in the equipment. Without the startup battery, the diesel generator set cannot be started normally. Therefore, pay attention to the maintenance of startup battery of diesel generator set at ordinary times.

1. First of all, pay attention to personal safety. When maintaining the battery, wear an acid proof apron and upper cover or protective glasses. Once the electrolyte accidentally splashes on the skin or clothing, wash it with a large amount of water immediately.

2. When charging the diesel generator set battery for the first time, it shall be noted that the continuous charging time shall not exceed 4 hours. Too long charging time will damage the service life of the battery.

3. The ambient temperature continuously exceeds 30 ℃ or the relative humidity continuously exceeds 80%, and the charging time is 8 hours.

4. If the battery is stored for more than 1 year, the charging time can be 12 hours.

5. At the end of charging, check whether the liquid level of electrolyte is sufficient, and add standard electrolyte with correct specific gravity (1:1.28) if necessary. Unscrew the top cover of the battery cell and slowly inject electrolyte until it is located between the two scale lines on the upper part of the metal sheet and close to the upper scale line as far as possible. After adding, please do not use it immediately. Let the battery stand for about 15 minutes.

6. The storage time of the battery exceeds 3 months, and the charging time can be 8 hours.

Finally, users should also note that when charging the battery, first open the battery filter cap or exhaust hole cover, check the electrolyte level, and adjust it with distilled water if necessary. In addition, in order to prevent the long-term closure, so that the dirty gas in the battery cell can not be discharged in time and avoid the condensation of water droplets on the top wall inside the cell, pay attention to opening the special vent to facilitate the proper circulation of air.

What are the types of battery leakage and what are the main phenomena?

The key of valve controlled sealed battery is sealing. If the battery leaks at night, it cannot live in the same room with the communication room and must be replaced.

Phenomenon: 

A. There are white crystals around the pole column, obvious blackening corrosion and sulfuric acid droplets. 

B. If the battery is placed horizontally, there is white powder corroded by acid on the ground. 

C. The copper core of the pole column is green and the droplets in the spiral sleeve are obvious. Or there are obvious droplets between the tank covers.

Cause: 

a. Some battery screw sleeves are loose, and the pressure of the sealing ring is reduced, resulting in liquid leakage. 

b. The aging of sealant leads to cracks at the seal. 

c. The battery is seriously over discharged and overcharged, and different types of batteries are mixed, resulting in poor gas recombination efficiency. 

d. Acid spilled during acid filling, resulting in false leakage.

Measures: 

a. Wipe the battery that may be false leakage for later observation. 

b. Reinforce the screw sleeve of the liquid leakage battery and continue to observe. 

c. Improve the battery sealing structure.

What items should be checked frequently during the operation and maintenance of the battery?

(1) Total voltage, charging current and floating charge voltage of each battery.

(2) Whether the battery connecting strip is loose or corroded.

(3) Whether the battery shell has leakage and deformation.

(4) Whether there is acid mist overflow around the battery pole and safety valve.

Why does the battery sometimes fail to discharge electricity when using?

When the start-up battery is discharged under the normal floating charge state and the discharge time does not meet the requirements, the battery voltage on the SPC exchange or electrical equipment has dropped to its set value, and the discharge is in the termination state. The reasons are that the battery discharge current exceeds the rated current, resulting in insufficient discharge time and the actual capacity reaches. During floating charge, the actual floating charge voltage is insufficient, which will cause long-term battery under power, insufficient battery capacity, and possibly lead to battery sulfation.

The connecting strip between batteries is loose and the contact resistance is large, resulting in large voltage drop on the connecting strip during discharge, and the voltage of the whole group of batteries drops rapidly (on the contrary, the battery voltage rises rapidly during charging). The ambient temperature is too low during discharge. With the decrease of temperature, the discharge capacity of the battery also decreases.
