Given the importance of the emergency diesel generator system in nuclear power plants, functional debugging and testing of the system should be carried out during the debugging phase after the installation of the emergency diesel generator.
Firstly, it is necessary to verify the functions of auxiliary systems, such as cooling water, fuel, and other systems and circuits, for any leaks or leaks, and ensure that the liquid levels in the oil pan, fuel tank, and other storage tanks are displayed within normal ranges before the first start of the diesel generator. The outlet pressure and flow rate of the fuel pump and lubricating oil pump meet the design requirements. And verify that the function of the preheating circuit meets the requirements of the diesel engine's thermal reserve.
Next, it is necessary to debug and functional test the electrical part of the diesel generator set, such as testing the availability of the diesel generator set protection device: ensuring that the power supply is normal, the equipment in the cabinet is complete, and the parameter settings meet the design requirements, especially to ensure that all types of protection parameters are set within the required range and correctly trigger the trip protection logic.
After the preliminary preparation work is completed, the first start-up test of the diesel generator set should be carried out. This experiment also verified that the auxiliary system of emergency diesel generator can meet the design requirements when the diesel engine is running. However, in this test, the diesel generator set was running at no load, and this startup was for subsequent load tests to verify the availability of the diesel engine.
Before the load test of the emergency diesel generator set, the availability of the excitation regulation system should be checked under static conditions to verify the correctness of the relationship between excitation current and generator stator voltage in the emergency diesel generator set under no-load conditions, as well as the correctness of the relationship between excitation current and generator stator current under short-circuit conditions.
Finally, it is necessary to verify the operation of the diesel generator set under load, as well as the reliability and time response of various startup methods in emergency situations. The abnormal fluctuation of diesel engine power described in this article was discovered during the first full power test of a diesel generator set.
