The friction coefficient of the moving parts of the diesel generator will change at any time after a long time of use, especially for the diesel generator set just leaving the factory or just after the overhaul, for example, after the new diesel generator set  has been used for a period of time, the oil supply advance angle may change due to the loosening of the fixing screws of the transmission connecting plate of the high-pressure oil pump assembly, causing abnormal metal knocking sound in the cylinder, and worsening the combustion of the fuel in the combustion chamber, However, if the fuel supply advance angle is too large, the diesel generator set will be underpowered, the exhaust pipe will emit black smoke, the temperature of the diesel generator set will be too high, and the cylinder will emit a rhythmic, low and unclear knocking sound, which will also not make the fuel burn well in the combustion chamber, or if the valve clearance changes during the operation of the diesel generator set, the diesel generator set will also be underpowered. 1. Adjustment of fuel supply advance angle.

In order to obtain an economic fuel consumption rate, the fuel supply advance angle is generally corrected after the diesel generator set has been operated for 500h or when the fuel injection pump-regulator assembly has been calibrated and reassembled.

2.Adjustment of valve clearance.

When replacing the cylinder gasket and piston ring of the diesel generator set or tightening the cylinder head according to the specified torque due to the leakage of the cylinder gasket, the valve clearance must be adjusted, because the excessive valve clearance will cause the valve to open late and close early (the normal condition is that the inlet valve opens early and the exhaust valve closes late), the insufficient air intake, the dirty exhaust and the excessive exhaust noise of the diesel engine, etc., and the too small valve clearance will cause the valve to close loosely, ablation or air leakage, etc.

3.Adjustment of oil pressure.

There are generally two lubrication methods for diesel generator sets: pressure lubrication and splash lubrication. Low or high oil pressure will affect the lubrication quality of diesel generator sets. Therefore, diesel generator sets must control the oil pressure within the specified range when working.

4.Adjustment of regulator.

During the use of the diesel generator set, the charging ammeter pointer does not move, and the charging current is too large or too small. If the charging current of the battery is too large, the service life of the battery will be shortened, and if it is too small, the battery cannot be charged on time. When the Perkins generator is working, if the charging current displayed by the charging ammeter is too large, the current limiting spring of the regulator should be adjusted to shorten the spring, At this time, the current will decrease, and on the contrary, the current will increase. During the adjustment process, pay attention not to exert too much force, and gently touch it until it meets the requirements.

5.Adjustment of fan belt.

If the fan belt of the diesel generator set is too tight, the wear of the bearing of the direct-alternator, the bearing of the water pump and the bearing of the fan will be aggravated. If the belt is too loose, the air volume of the fan will be insufficient, which will affect the cooling effect of the cooling water. At the same time, the output voltage of the generator will drop, and the flow of the water pump will drop, which cannot meet the use requirements. Therefore, the fan belt must be adjusted according to the use requirements.

6.Pressure reduction adjustment of diesel engine.

During the use of diesel generator set, it is often difficult to start due to the weather or insufficient battery power. At this time, the operator can reduce the compression ratio, improve the starting resistance and start the Perkins diesel generator set  by reducing the pressure of the diesel engine inlet valve.
