This 30KW generator set is powered by DCEC Cummins 4BT3.9-G1 engine model, which offers a rated output of 36KW/45kva and a standby output of 40KW/50kva at 1500rpm. Cummins engines excel in applications where maximum torque and towing capacity are critical. Due to their durability and simple and robust design, Cummins engines are perfect for heavy-duty tasks.
Stamford alternators are well known for their enhanced performance and rugged reliability. Stamford S1L2-K1 alternator is a three-phase synchronous AC generator, which is designed for rugged reliability and versatile performance. It will produce 44 kVA of standby power and 40 kVA of prime power at 50Hz. This makes it a suitable choice of alternator for many standby power and small power applications.
Cummins diesel generator sets are known for their efficiency and industrial-grade performance. If you’re looking for more robust power solutions without breaking the bank, Cummins generators are a great option for you.
Connecting a diesel generator to your house requires careful planning and adherence to safety protocols. Before buying a generator, you need to assess your power requirements and then choose a diesel generator with a capacity that can meet the power needs. Typically, consider a 20-30% margin above your total power for future power requirements.
A transfer switch can isolate your home from the grid to prevent backfeeding, which is hazardous and illegal. To connect the diesel-powered generator to your house, you can consider several options, such as manual transfer switch and automatic transfer switch. Choose the one that is best for your scenario. Ensure it matches the generator’s amperage.
Install your diesel generator in a proper place and then install the transfer switch. Installing these requires professional knowledge and skills. You can hire a licensed electrician to install the transfer switch near the main panel. It will connect to designated circuits. Use heavy-duty, outdoor-rated cables to link the generator’s output to the transfer switch. Install a grounding rod as per local codes to ensure safety.
Obtain necessary permits and schedule inspections to meet local electrical codes. Run periodic tests under load to verify functionality. Never operate the generator indoors or in enclosed spaces.
Start the generator, let it stabilize, then engage the transfer switch to power selected circuits. After utility power returns, switch back to grid power and shut down the generator following manufacturer guidelines.
Use an approved diesel fuel tank, stored safely away from living areas. Ensure regular refills and consider a fuel stabilizer for long-term storage. Follow the manufacturer’s schedule for oil changes, filter replacements, and coolant checks.
