Dingbo Power Exported A 80Kva Cummins Diesel Genset to Tanzania

In December, 2024, Dingbo Power exported a prime power 80kva silent type diesel generator set to Tanzania. The genset is powered by DCEC Cummins 4BTA3.9-G11 diesel engine, which has a prime power of 70KW/88kva and a standby power of 80KW/100kva at 1500 rpm. This genset is equipped with a soundproof enclosure, which is made of 2mm galvanized sheet. The generator enclosure is weather-proof, dust-proof and non-corrosive. It can protect the generating set from inclement weather and other adverse environmental factors, and keep the components of diesel generator free of debris and moisture. How to operate a diesel generator?

After buying a new diesel generator, please read the user manual and follow the instructions and recommendations of manufacturer to operate your generator. Generally, to operate a diesel-powered generator set safely and efficiently, you can follow the key steps below.

Pre-operation checks

Before starting your diesel generator, visual inspections are necessary. Check for loose parts, damaged wiring, or leaks. Ensure the battery is charged and terminals are clean and tight. Check the fuel level, oil level and coolant level. Make sure they are at the correct levels. Ensure all electrical loads are off before starting.

Starting the generator

Start the diesel generator and allow the generator to run at no load for 3~5 minutes to stabilize oil pressure and temperature. In cold conditions, you may need to preheat the engine by activating the glow plug or other preheat functions if equipped.

Connecting loads

Connect essential loads one at a time and watch the voltage, frequency, oil pressure, and coolant temperature during operation.

During operation

During the generator operation, check fuel, oil, and coolant levels periodically and check if there are any unusual noises or vibrations. Avoid overloading the diesel generator to prevent damage.

Shutdown procedure

To shut down the diesel generator, you need to disconnect loads and let the generator run at no load for 3~5 minutes to stabilize internal temperatures. Then turn off the generator. You can use the emergency stop button if abnormal noises, smoke, or critical failures occur.

Keep in mind that generators produce exhaust gases like carbon monoxide, which is colorless, odorless, and potentially deadly. Remember to place it outdoors at least 20 feet from your home's doors, windows, or vents. Or place it in a dedicated generator room with well ventilation.
