Operating Instructions for 500kw Diesel Generator Set

The 500kw diesel generator set is widely used and is often used as a backup or emergency power supply. In the process of using the diesel generator set, it is necessary to follow the relevant operating procedures, otherwise it may lead to damage to the unit and cause unnecessary economic losses. General users always think that these are just good to pay attention when the unit is running, but in fact, some matters need to be paid attention to after the diesel generator set is shut down, such as: 

1. Inspection items after generator shutdown (preparation for next startup).

2. Eliminate simple faults and abnormal phenomena during operation.

3. It is very important to check whether there are three leaks (oil leak, water leak and air leak).

4. Check the four off, close the fuel valve, close the air inlet and exhaust facilities of the machine room, close the output air switch of the diesel generator, close the power key switch of the control panel, take out the key and keep it properly.

5. Clean the dust from the air cleaner element.

6. Check the oil level and add oil if necessary.

7. Check the level of cooling water in the water tank, and add soft purified water if necessary (the check is effective only after 15 minutes of shutdown).

8. Fill the diesel oil tank with diesel oil.

9. Check whether the battery charging indicator is on, whether the voltage is normal, and whether the battery liquid level is above 10mm and below 20mm on the grid surface.

10. Completely clean the dust and sundries on the diesel generator set.

In addition to the precautions after shutdown, 500kw diesel generator set shall not be shut down with load when it is shut down. It shall be shut down after 3-5 minutes of no-load cooling operation after unloading the load, and the no-load operation parameters of the generator set shall be recorded again immediately before shutdown; If it is not used or maintained for a long time, the negative pole of the starting battery of the diesel generator must be removed, and the coolant must be drained away at the same time. Be sure to remember the measures for long-term non use or maintenance.
