Analysis of Looseness of Generator Stator Core and Short Circuit between Iron Chips

Today, we will briefly introduce the analysis of the looseness of the stator core of diesel power generator and the short circuit between iron chips.

 

The iron core was not fastened properly due to improper manufacturing and assembly. If the whole iron core is loose, for small diesel power generator, two iron plates smaller than the inner diameter of the end of the stator winding can be used, and the stud bolts can be put on to tighten the iron core. After restoring the original shape, tighten the original clamping bolt of the iron core. If the local iron core is loose, the silicon steel sheet paint can be applied between the loose sheets first, and then the hard insulating material can be injected into the loose part.

 

Short circuit between iron chips: the iron core lamination is loose, and the iron core vibrates and damages the insulation when diesel power generator is running; The insulation of the iron chip is damaged in some places or the iron core is overheated locally, which makes the insulation aging, so it shall be treated according to the method in the original plan.

There is burr on the edge of iron chip or mechanical damage during maintenance. Use a fine file to remove the burr, trim the damaged part, clean the surface, and then apply a layer of silicon steel sheet paint. If there is soldering tin or copper particle to short connect the iron core, the metal fusion welding point shall be scraped or chiseled off, and the surface shall be treated well. Arc short circuit of winding may also cause short circuit of iron core. The burnt part shall be removed with chisel and the surface shall be treated.

 

What are main reasons for unqualified insulation of diesel power generator?

 

The unqualified insulation of the diesel power generator is mainly caused by the failure to operate according to the regulations, and the dust, oil and carbon deposition at the end of the rotor coil.

 

In addition to solving the oil leakage of the generator set end bearing, the sealing of the generator set end cover should also be strengthened to prevent dust from entering the generator set.

 

 

The reduction of rotor insulation resistance shall be treated with electromechanical equipment cleaning agent, and the maximum time shall not exceed 20 hours. This treatment method is lower in cost, shorter in time and higher in economic benefits than pulling out the retaining ring.

 

 

The cleaning agent can not only clean the dust and oil at the end of the rotor, but also coat a layer of high insulation medium on the end of the rotor coil, which essentially improves the insulation strength of the rotor.
