What are the functions of diesel generator set coolant liquid?

1. Antifreeze effect

When the temperature is too low, it is necessary to ensure that the diesel engine cooling system is not damaged by freezing. Generally speaking, the commonly used antifreeze temperature of the coolant liquid is between minus 20 degrees Celsius and 45 degrees Celsius, and it is reasonable to choose according to the actual needs of different regions.

2. Anti boiling effect

Under high temperatures, it is ensured that premature boiling will not occur. Generally, the boiling point of commonly used coolant liquid is between 104 degrees and 108 degrees. When the coolant liquid is added to the cooling system and generates pressure, its boiling point will be higher.

3. Anticorrosive effect

Dedicated coolant liquid can reduce corrosion to the cooling system, thereby avoiding water leakage caused by corrosion of the cooling system.

4. Rust prevention effect

High quality coolant liquid can prevent rusting in the cooling system, which can lead to accelerated wear and reduced heat transfer efficiency.

5. Anti scaling effect

Due to the use of deionized water in the coolant liquid, the formation of scale and precipitation can be avoided, achieving the goal of protecting the engine.

How to replace the coolant liquid of diesel generator?

1. When replacing the coolant liquid, it is necessary to flush the cooling system. When replacing the coolant liquid, do not replace the coolant filter (attachment). The coolant filter must be replaced after 6 months of replacing the coolant liquid, and then every 6 months.

2. If there is danger of icing, use 50% Antifreeze and 50% pure water mixture. Mix ethylene glycol and water in a single container first, and then add the mixture to the system; There is never a risk of freezing. A mixture of water and preservatives can be used as a coolant;liquid. The mixing ratio is 1:30, and after adding coolant liquid, let the engine run to operating temperature, which can make the additive exert great power. If the annual operating time exceeds 500 hours, 1/2 liter of anti-corrosion agent must be added to the coolant every 500 hours. However, regardless of the climate, we recommend using a coolant liquid made by mixing ethylene glycol and purified water every year.

3. Except in emergency situations, do not open the water filler cap when the engine temperature is still high. Otherwise, steam may spray out. Before starting the engine every day, check the coolant liquid level and add it if necessary. The cooling liquid level should be 5cm lower than the sealing surface of the water inlet cover. If a split expansion water tank is installed, add it between the MIN (low) and MAX (high) markings.

4. Whether it is Yuchai diesel generator set or Shangchai diesel generator set, the discharge sequence of the coolant is the same: when the ambient temperature is less than 5 ℃ or the engine is shut down for a long time, the antifreeze approved by the diesel generator manufacturer must be used, and the coolant liquid must be added or drained after proportioning. The discharge sequence is: cooling water tank → engine body → circulating water pump → (Intercooler) → (jacket preheater). Different models have different drainage points.
