How to Judge Operation State of Generator Thermostat

The key temperature sensor thermostat of diesel generator set is wax thermostat. When the cooling temperature is lower than the standard value, the thermostat will feel the fine paraffin in the body: solid. The thermostat valve closes the channel between the engine and the radiator under the action of the spring, and the refrigerant returns to the engine to conduct a small cycle of the engine according to the water pump. When the temperature of the coolant reaches the limit value, the paraffin begins to melt and slowly turns into liquid, the volume increases and the hose shrinks. When the hose shrinks, push up and down to open the gate valve. At this time, the refrigerant flows back to the engine according to the radiator and thermostat valves to start a large cycle.

Most of the thermostats are arranged in the water outlet channel of the cylinder head in generator set, and the structure is simple, which is convenient to remove the gas foam in the refrigeration system. Main disadvantages: the thermostat often opens and closes during operation, causing oscillation.

How to judge the operation state of generator thermostat?

When the engine starts to run cold, if there is cooling water flowing out of the water inlet of the upper water chamber of the water tank, it indicates that the key component of the thermostat is the thermostat. When the temperature of engine cooling water exceeds 70 ℃, the gate valve cannot be closed; No cooling water flows out from the water inlet of the water chamber on the water tank, which means that the distribution valve of the thermostat is not opened correctly and must be repaired later. The thermostat inspection can be carried out in the vehicle, and the inspection methods are as follows:

Check after the engine starts: open the radiator water lock cover. If the cooling water in the radiator is stable, the thermostat is working. Otherwise, it means that the temperature controller works abnormally. This is because when the water temperature is lower than 70 ℃, the distribution valve of the thermostatic expansion cylinder is closed: when the water temperature is higher than 80 ℃, the expansion is easy to expand, slowly open the distribution valve, and the circulating water begins to flow in the radiator. When the water temperature is below 70 ℃, if there is running water at the radiator inlet and the water temperature is warm, the distribution valve of the thermostat is not closed tightly, and the cooling water circulation is premature.

Check after the water temperature rises: at the initial stage of engine operation, the water temperature rises rapidly: when the water temperature is 80 ℃, the heating rate decreases slowly, indicating that the thermostat works normally. On the contrary, if the water temperature rises rapidly, when the internal pressure reaches a certain level, the boiling water suddenly highlights, and then overflows, indicating that the distribution valve is stuck and suddenly opened. The water temperature shows 70-80 ℃.

Open the radiator cap and radiator water switch, and feel the water temperature by hand. If every heat means that the thermostat works normally; If the water inlet temperature of the radiator is low, and the water inlet in the upper water chamber of the radiator has no water outflow or the flow is small, it indicates that the distribution valve of the thermostat cannot be opened. The thermostat that is stuck or cannot be closed tightly should be removed, cleaned or repaired, and should not be used.
