A single cylinder diesel engine is a type of diesel engine that has only one cylinder when classified by the number of cylinders. The tractor mainly utilizes the characteristics of large single cylinder displacement, large reduction gear ratio, and long stroke, and the engine torque is amplified many times, which is enough torque.

Previously, single cylinder diesel engines used a mechanical governor, and when the accelerator was pressed, the fuel supply increased. But the load is too large, the torque of the diesel engine is not enough, the speed cannot be raised, and if the speed cannot be raised, the intake air is not enough. At this time, the excess oil cannot be completely burned, and can only be carbonized into particles and discharged, forming so-called black smoke.

If a single cylinder diesel engine starts emitting black smoke, it already has an excessive load, and in order to provide greater power, it can only desperately press the accelerator. For this diesel engine, it has already started to weaken and is about to be scrapped, and it won't have much effect. Due to the widespread use of mechanical governors in single cylinder diesel engines, when the accelerator is pressed, the fuel supply will increase, but the torque of the diesel engine cannot be increased, and the speed cannot be raised, resulting in a lack of intake air.
