In modern times, diesel generator has become the standard configuration in different industries. When the power grid is cut off or insufficient, diesel generator can provide continuous and stable power guarantee for enterprises or factories. 1.Why Yuchai diesel generator Should Be Connected to the Grid?

A three-phase synchronous generator is a commonly used AC generator, but a single three-phase synchronous generator has obvious drawbacks in supplying power to the power grid (1) it cannot guarantee the quality of power supply (voltage and frequency stability) and reliability (power outage in case of failure); (2) Unable to achieve flexibility and economy in power supply.

 

These shortcomings can be improved by parallel connection of multiple three-phase synchronous generators. By paralleling, several synchronous generators or power stations can be combined into a power grid. In modern power plants, several synchronous generators are connected in parallel to a common busbar, and there are always several power plants in a region that are connected in parallel to form a powerful power system.

 

Grid power supply has many advantages over stand-alone power supply:

(1) The reliability of power supply is improved, and the failure of one motor or regular maintenance will not cause a power outage.

(2) The economy and flexibility of power supply are improved. For example, when hydroelectric power plants are connected in parallel with thermal power plants, the two types of power plants can be deployed to generate electricity during the dry and high water periods, so that water resources can be used rationally. In the peak and low periods, the number of generators can be flexibly decided, which improves the efficiency and flexibility of power supply.

(3) The quality of power supply is improved. The quantity of power supply is huge, and the change of single generator and individual load has little impact on the power grid, and the voltage and frequency, which measure the quality of power supply, can be regarded as constant constants.

2.The principle of grid connection of Yuchai diesel generator.

Only when the generator is connected to the grid can it generate electricity and transmit it out to thousands of our homes. On the contrary, if it is not connected to the grid (also called unconnected), the generator cannot generate electricity, not to mention the transmission of electricity. Whether grid-connected or unconnected, it is done through an outlet switch of the generator.

 

Generator grid connection refers to the connection between the generator and the power grid (which can also be considered as many users who need electricity) through the closing of the generator outlet switch, allowing the continuous transmission of electrical energy sources. There are three conditions for a generator to be connected to the grid: the frequency, voltage, and phase of the generator must be consistent with the frequency, voltage, and phase of the grid in order to generate electricity. (The three conditions are exactly the same and are called synchronous; there is a slight deviation, but within the allowable range, it is called quasi synchronous). However, if I do not want to generate electricity, I will still disconnect the generator from the power grid through the opening of this outlet switch, which is called splitting; When I want to generate electricity, I will switch it on at the same time, which is called grid connection.
