Based on the cognition of automobile engines, many people think that the fuel consumption of the unit must be proportional to the load. The larger the load, the more fuel it will be consumed. Is it really the truth? Generally, the fuel consumption of a unit is generally related to two aspects. One is the fuel consumption rate of the unit itself, which usually cannot be changed more; the other is the size of the load.For the purpose of saving fuel, many people control the load within the standard range of the rated load, but the fuel consumption is still not ideal. Why?

 

1. What is the relationship between diesel generator fuel consumption and load?

 

Under normal circumstances, diesel generator sets of the same brand and model will consume more fuel when the load is large. On the contrary, when the load is small, the relative fuel consumption will be lower. This argument itself is valid. But in special circumstances, it has to be another matter.The normal practice is that when the load is 80%, the fuel consumption is the lowest. If the load of the diesel generator set is 80% of the rated load, one liter of oil will generate 3.5 kilowatt-hours of electricity. If the load increases, the fuel consumption will increase. It is often said that the fuel consumption of a diesel generator set is proportional to the load. However, if the load is lower than 20%, it will have an impact on the diesel generator set. Not only the fuel consumption of the generator set will be greatly improved, but also the generator set will be damaged.

 

Therefore, the view that fuel consumption is proportional to load is not absolute. To reduce the fuel consumption of power generator, you can make the generator set to operate at about 80% of the rated load. Long-term low-load operation will increase fuel consumption and even damage the generator set. It is very important to treat the relationship between fuel consumption and load of diesel generator sets correctly.

 

2. Which four aspects affect the fuel consumption of diesel engines?

 

1. The internal pressure of the high-pressure oil pump. The better the sealing of the diesel generator set, the higher the pressure, the more fuel-saving. The oil pump has low pressure and poor sealing, which increases the effective stroke of the high-pressure oil pump when working. Insufficient diesel combustion results in large fuel consumption.

 

2. The atomization degree of the fuel injector (commonly known as the fuel nozzle). The better the spray, the more fuel-efficient the nozzle hole is. The nozzle is worn and the seal is not good. The fuel injection is linear, which is obviously more fuel than the atomization. When the diesel fuel enters the engine, it is discharged before it can be burned, resulting in a large fuel consumption.

 

3. Air pressure in the engine cylinder. Low cylinder pressure in the engine and poor valve sealing and air leakage will result in high fuel consumption; too high water temperature in the diesel engine lowers the compression ratio of the engine, and part of the diesel is discharged at high temperatures, resulting in high fuel consumption.

4. The supercharged engine is leaking. Leakage of the booster air pipe causes the air pressure to be pushed into the high-pressure oil pump during the exhaust gas recirculation to be too low. When the throttle is increased, the oil pump cannot reach the required oil volume of the engine, resulting in insufficient engine power. (Limited to supercharged engines).

 

3. What are the fuel-saving tips for diesel generators?

 

(1) .Increase the temperature of the cooling water of the diesel engine. Increasing the temperature of the cooling water can make the diesel fuel more complete, and the viscosity of the oil will be reduced, thereby reducing the movement resistance and achieving the effect of fuel saving.

 

(2) . Maintain the best oil supply angle. The deviation of the fuel supply angle will cause the fuel supply time to be too late, resulting in a large increase in fuel consumption.

 

(3) . Ensure that the machine does not leak oil. Diesel engine oil pipelines often have leaks due to uneven joints, deformation or damage of gaskets. At this time, the following methods can be used to effectively solve the above problems: paint the gasket with valve paint on the glass plate and grind the oil pipe joints; add diesel The recovery device uses a plastic pipe to connect the oil return pipe on the oil nozzle with the hollow screw to guide the oil return into the oil tank.

 

(4) . Purify the oil before use. More than half of the diesel engine failures are caused by the fuel supply system.The treatment method is: put the purchased diesel oil on hold for 2-4 days before using it, which can precipitate 98% of the impurities.
