Delivery Inspection Contents of Diesel Generator Set

Before leaving the factory, the diesel generator has a final quality inspection process to ensure that the diesel generator meets the design purpose and performance objectives. At the same time, the safety performance of the diesel generator is also finally determined. Therefore, the process of delivery inspection is indispensable. 

Delivery inspection and test items:

1. Appearance inspection. Appearance inspection mainly includes nameplate data inspection, welding quality, installation quality, no leakage of pipeline, whether the starting system and wiring are correct, etc.

2. Insulation resistance test. Measure the insulation resistance of each independent electrical circuit to the ground and between each circuit with a megger. During the measurement, the semiconductor devices and capacitors shall be removed, and each switch shall be in the on state. The reading after the megger pointer is stable is the measurement result.

3. Genset startup performance test. When the ambient temperature of diesel generator is not lower than 5 ℃ and the cooling water and lubricating oil are not preheated, the emergency generator shall be able to start smoothly under the ambient temperature of 0 ℃ (preheating measures are allowed when starting is difficult). It shall be started for six consecutive times, and it shall be qualified if it is successful for more than five times in the six starts. The time interval between each start shall not exceed 1min (the automatic unit shall also conduct three self start failure tests).

4. Measurement of no-load voltage setting range of diesel genset. At rated power factor and rated frequency, measure whether the voltage is within the rated range under manual and automatic conditions.

5. Measurement of unit stable voltage regulation rate.

6. Measurement of transient voltage change rate and stabilization time of generating set.

7. Measurement of steady-state speed regulation characteristics of generating set.

8. Measurement of transient speed regulation rate and stabilization time of the unit. The capacity of marine power station is relatively small. When the load changes, the terminal voltage of the generator set will change greatly. Maintaining a relatively stable voltage is an important index of the generator set. The transient voltage change rate of the generator is an important index to measure the power supply quality.

9. Generator load test. The test is carried out under the rated working condition of the unit. After the unit runs for 10 minutes without load, change the load, and record the parameters such as power, frequency and current at regular intervals. The unit shall be free from abnormal phenomena such as three leakage within the rated operation time.

11. Diesel generator protection device test. After starting the unit, adjust the speed to the rated speed under no-load, and then slowly increase the speed to the specified alarm value to test the overspeed protection. For high water temperature protection, it is necessary to distinguish whether the water temperature sensor adopts switching value or analog value. The two ends of the switching value sensor will be short circuited to make it alarm. The analog quantity can change the alarm and shutdown parameters of the controller to complete the test. The oil temperature and oil pressure tests are similar.

12.Parallel operation test of units (for units that need to be operated in parallel)

A.The normal shutdown of the generator set: the load will be gradually removed, the load switch will be disconnected, and the commutation switch will be turned to the manual position; the speed will be reduced to 600-800 rpm under no load, and the load will be run for a few minutes after no load. Push the handle of the oil pump to stop supplying oil, and reset the handle after stopping; when the ambient temperature is less than 5℃, the cooling water of the water pump and the diesel engine should be drained; the speed control handle is placed at the lowest speed position, and the voltage switch is placed at the manual position; short-term The fuel switch can be turned off when parking to prevent air from entering the fuel system. The fuel switch should be turned off after parking for long-term parking; the oil must be drained for long-term parking.

B.Emergency shutdown: When one of the following situations occurs to the generator set, an emergency shutdown is required. At this time, you should cut off the load first, and immediately turn the fuel injection pump switch handle to the position of cutting off the oil circuit, so that the diesel engine stops immediately; the value of the pressure gauge of the generator set drops below the specified value:

1) The cooling water temperature exceeds 99℃;

2) The generator set has a sharp knocking sound, or some parts are damaged;

3) Cylinder, piston, governor and other moving parts are stuck;

4) When the generator voltage exceeds the maximum reading on the meter;

5) In the event of fire or electric leakage or other natural hazards.
