The derusting methods of diesel generator set mainly include mechanical derusting, chemical pickling derusting and electrochemical corrosion derusting. 1.Mechanical derusting method.
This method is to remove the rust layer on the surface of mechanical parts by using the functions of friction and cutting between mechanical parts. The common methods are brushing, grinding, polishing and sandblasting. Single piece and small batch maintenance rely on manual use of steel wire brush, scraper and abrasive cloth to brush, scrape or polish the rust layer. A batch of qualified parts or units can be derusted by various derusting tools driven by motor or fan, such as electric polishing, polishing, rolling, etc. Sand blasting uses compressed air to spray a certain size of sand on the surface of rusty parts through a spray gun. It can not only remove rust quickly, but also prepare for coating, spraying, electroplating and other processes. The surface after sandblasting is clean and has a certain roughness, which can improve the adhesion between the coating and parts. Mechanical rust removal can only be used on the surface of unimportant mechanical parts.
2.Chemical rust removal method.
This is a pickling method for dissolving corrosion products on the metal surface by chemical reaction. The principle is that the rust layer falls off due to the mechanical action of acid dissolved metal and hydrogen produced in chemical reaction. Common acids include hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, etc. due to different metal materials, the chemicals used to dissolve corrosion products are also different. The selection of rust remover and its operating conditions are mainly determined according to metal type, chemical composition, surface condition, dimensional accuracy and part surface quality.
3.Electrochemical etching method.
It is to place the parts in the electrolyte and apply direct current to remove rust through chemical reaction. This method is faster than chemical method, can better preserve the base metal and reduce the consumption of acid. It is generally divided into two categories: one is to use derusting parts as anodes; The second is to use the derusted parts as the cathode. Anodic derusting is due to the dissolution of metal and the tearing effect of oxygen on the rust layer. Cathodic derusting is due to the reduction of iron oxide by hydrogen generated on the cathode after power on, and the hydrogen will tear the rust layer and make the rust fall off from the surface of parts. The main disadvantage of the former method is that when the current density is too high, it is easy to cause excessive corrosion and damage to the part surface, which is suitable for parts with simple shape. Although the latter has no corrosion problem, hydrogen can easily enter the metal, resulting in hydrogen embrittlement and reducing the plasticity of parts. Therefore, it is necessary to determine the appropriate rust removal method according to the specific conditions of the corroded parts.
