1. For direct-distribution motors with a single unit capacity of 300~1500kw, 9 protection wires are used for overvoltage protection. For high-voltage direct-distribution motors with a single unit capacity of 300kw and below, according to the specific situation and operating experience, 10 (a) protective wiring or 10 (b) method is adopted. Only one set of lightning arrester and capacitor is installed at the entrance of the line, and the protective gap is installed on the pole near the household or the insulator iron foot is grounded. Individual important motors adopt 9 protection wiring.

2. The lightning arrester used for the protection of high-voltage rotating motor generally adopts magnetic blowing lightning arrester, which should be installed close to the generator. In general, the lightning arrester can be installed at the outlet of the motor; If there are no more than two generators connected to each group of buses, or the single genset capacity is not more than 500kw, and the distance from the lightning arrester is not more than 50m, the lightning arrester can also be installed on each group of buses.

3. When the neutral point of the direct-distribution motor can be led out and is not directly grounded, magnetic blow-out or ordinary valve-type lightning arrester shall be installed on the neutral point. The rated voltage of lightning arrester shall not be lower than the maximum operating phase voltage of generator.
