The diesel engine generator fuel injection pump is the main component of the diesel engine and diesel supply system software, and its operational performance immediately endangers the driving force, rationality, and stability of the diesel engine. Proper maintenance is the main prerequisite for ensuring the normal operation of the fuel injection pump and increasing its lifespan. 1.Regularly check whether the oil quantity and quality of the fuel injection pump meet the regulations.

 

Before each operation of the diesel engine, the amount and quality of the oil in fuel injection pump should be checked to ensure sufficient and high-quality oil. If the oil becomes moldy due to water infiltration, it may cause initial wear and tear of the plunger pump and outlet valve components, resulting in insufficient driving force and difficult operation of the diesel engine. In severe cases, it may cause corrosion and rust of the plunger pump and outlet valve components.

2.Regularly maintain and adjust the fuel supply advance angle of the fuel injection pump and the distance between the fuel supply of each cylinder.

 

During operation, due to the loosening of the coupling connecting anchor bolts and the wear of the engine camshaft and roller body components, changes in the fuel supply advance angle and the fuel supply spacing angle of each cylinder are often caused, which affects the ignition of the diesel engine and reduces the driving force and rationality of the diesel engine. At the same time, the operation is difficult, unstable, and abnormal noises and overheating are emitted. In specific applications, most personnel attach great importance to the inspection and adjustment of the overall fuel supply advance angle, but neglect the fuel supply spacing.

 

3.Regularly maintain and adjust the fuel supply volume of each cylinder of the fuel injection pump.

 

Due to the wear and tear of the plunger pump and outlet valve components, the diesel engine leaks air, resulting in low or uneven fuel supply to each cylinder, making it difficult for the diesel engine to operate, insufficient output power, increased fuel consumption, and unstable operation. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly maintain and adjust the fuel supply of each cylinder of the fuel injection pump to ensure the full utilization of the output power of the diesel engine. In specific applications, the size of fuel supply for each cylinder can be determined by carefully observing the exhaust system of diesel engine, listening to the engine's sound, and touching the temperature of the exhaust manifold.

 

4.Regularly maintain the engine camshaft clearance.


The radial clearance of the camshaft in the fuel injection pump engine is strictly regulated, usually between 0.03 and 0.15mm. If the clearance is too large, it will increase the impact of the roller transmission system components on the surface of the camshaft during operation, thereby increasing the initial wear of the camshaft surface and changing the perspective of fuel supply in advance; The excessive clearance between the rolling bearing shaft and the diameter of the engine camshaft can easily lead to unstable operation of the engine camshaft. The remaining oil adjustment support rod vibrates, causing a periodic change in fuel supply, making the diesel engine unstable. Therefore, regular maintenance and adjustment are necessary. When the radial clearance of the engine camshaft is too large, washers can be added on both sides for adjustment. If the tangential clearance is too large, it is generally necessary to replace it with a new product.

 

5.Check the sealing condition of the valve coupling components on time.

 

During the operation of the fuel injection pump for a period of time, the sealing condition of the oil valve can be checked to roughly distinguish the wear of the plunger pump and the working condition of the gasoline pump, which is beneficial for clarifying the repair and maintenance methods.

 

6.Immediately replace the worn plunger pump and oil outlet valve components.

When it is found that the diesel engine is difficult to operate, the output power decreases, and the fuel consumption increases, and the adjustment of the fuel injection pump and injector still cannot see any improvement, the plunger pump and outlet valve components of the fuel injection pump should be disassembled and inspected. If the plunger and outlet valve wear to a certain level, they should be immediately replaced without persistently using them. 


Due to the difficult operation, increased fuel consumption, and insufficient driving force of the diesel engine provided after the wear and tear of the components, the damage far exceeds the cost of disassembling and replacing the components. After disassembling and replacing, the driving force and rationality of the diesel engine will significantly change. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out timely disassembly and replacement of the worn components.
