Technical Requirements for the Use of 700kVA Standby Generator

When 700kVA generator set is used as an emergency standby power source, the generator set manufacturer will establish some technical requirements for it to meet the needs of special generator set. Not only does it require the response time and success rate of generator set startup, but it also emphasizes the stability of operation and its protection function. The specific technical requirements and performance of 700kVA standby generator sets are as follows:

(1) The generator set manufacturer shall complete the design, manufacturing, transportation, warehousing, installation and commissioning guidance, trial operation and acceptance cooperation, technical training and after-sales service for operators and maintenance personnel of 700kVA standby generator set and auxiliary equipment and materials in accordance with the requirements of this technical specification, and hand over relevant materials in the required order.

(2) As an emergency power source for important loads of special units, 700kVA generator set should meet the following operating conditions: under normal circumstances, the generator set should always be in a ready to start state. When both mains power supplies are interrupted, the generator set should start immediately. The delay time for starting the generator set is 0 to 3 seconds (adjustable), and the generator set can automatically start (with a total of three consecutive self start functions). When any power supply is restored, the generator set should be able to continue operating with load for about 180 seconds (adjustable) until the power supply is stable before switching to the power supply with load. It should continue to operate for 0-300 seconds (adjustable) and automatically stop after cooling down. There should be interlocking devices between it and the power system to prevent parallel operation.

(3) The success rate of self start of 700kVA emergency generator set shall not be less than 99%. If the unit fails to start, an alarm signal shall be sent out. The unit shall be able to operate locally and in a compartment, and a remote control panel shall be provided. The unit self start signal shall be provided by a combination of low-voltage main incoming voltage relays under the load.

(4) The fixed high-speed automated 700kVA emergency generator set is adopted, and the working mode is standby. The unit should have the characteristics of fast starting, strong ability to withstand sudden load, reliable operation, good speed regulation, low failure rate, low noise, low vibration, low pollution, small size, light weight, and convenient maintenance.

(5) The important components of the 700kVA emergency generator set, such as the engine, generator, generator controller, etc., should be high-quality and technologically advanced products provided by brand modules. When bidding, the origin, generator set manufacturer, and corresponding technical specifications should be provided.

(6) The 700kVA emergency generator set should be equipped with an outgoing distribution cabinet and a frame movable circuit breaker on site. The generator set should be equipped with short-circuit, overload, grounding, overvoltage, undervoltage, and reverse power fault protection devices. The average time between failures of the unit is 10000 hours.

(7) The power supply of the 700kVA emergency generator set is connected to the low-voltage distribution system through the outgoing distribution cabinet, through the enclosed busbar, to the load it carries, and through ATS.
