The maintenance of Cummins generator set is an important measure to ensure the safe operation of diesel generator set. When repairing diesel generator sets, some repairmen often only pay attention to the maintenance of pumps, fuel pumps and other components, but ignore the maintenance of "small parts" such as various instruments. Who knows that it is the lack of maintenance of these "small parts" that causes early mechanical damage and shortens the service time. For example, the oil filter, air filter, hydraulic oil filter, water temperature gauge, oil temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge, sensor, alarm, filter screen, grease fitting, oil return joint, cotter pin, fan air guide cover, transmission shaft bolt locking plate, etc. used by diesel generator set, if maintenance is not paid attention to, it will often "lose big for small", causing damage to diesel generator set.


When maintaining Cummins generator set, accurately eliminating oil and impurities on the surface of spare parts is of great significance to improve the repair quality and delay the service life of machinery. If the sundries in the bolt hole and sand particles in the hydraulic components are not completely removed, resulting in insufficient bolt torque, easy fracture of piston ring, ablation of cylinder gasket and early wear of hydraulic components: during overhaul, pay no attention to the treatment of oil stains or impurities accumulated in the filter and lubricating oil passage, so that the repair work is not complete and the undamaged operation time of diesel generator set is reduced.


When repairing the diesel generator set, some repair personnel are not familiar with some problems that should be paid attention to in the repair, resulting in "habitual" errors in disassembly and affecting the repair quality of machinery. For example, when assembling the piston pin, the piston pin is directly driven into the pin hole without heating the piston, resulting in the increase of piston deformation and ovality: when repairing diesel generators, the bearing bush is excessively scraped, and the antifriction alloy layer on the surface of the bearing bush is scraped off, resulting in early damage caused by the direct friction between the steel back of the bearing bush and the main shaft; When removing the interference fit parts such as bearings and pulleys, do not use the puller. Hard hitting and hard knocking may easily lead to deformation or damage of spare parts; When unsealing new piston, cylinder liner, injector assembly, plunger assembly and other parts, burn the oil or wax sealed on the surface of the parts, so as to change the performance of the parts, which is not conducive to the use of the parts.


The existence of these problems will lead to the low quality of mechanical repair of Cummins generator set, poor equipment reliability, and even major diesel generator set accidents. Therefore, in the actual maintenance work, the correct maintenance and maintenance work should be paid enough attention.
