What should Cummins Diesel generator check before operation?

1.Check the exhaust system. Inspect the exhaust system, including exhaust manifolds, mufflers, and exhaust pipes. Check all connections, welds, gaskets, and seams for leaks to ensure that the exhaust pipe does not cause overheating in the surrounding area. Immediately repair any leaks found.

2. Check the fuel system. Check the fuel supply pipe, return pipe, filter, and pipeline accessories for any seams or wear. At the same time, it is necessary to ensure that the pipeline does not interfere or rub with other parts, which may eventually lead to pipeline damage. Any leakage found must be immediately repaired or the pipeline routing adjusted.

3. Check the DC electrical system. Check the terminals of the starting battery to ensure cleanliness and secure connections. Loose or corroded battery connectors can cause internal resistance, leading to difficulty starting.

4. Check the engine. Regularly check the fluid level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The vast majority of engine malfunctions have early signs. During the inspection, it was found that there were changes in the engine's performance, sound, or appearance, which are often signals that the equipment needs maintenance or repair. Special attention should be paid to difficulties in ignition, vibration, excessive smoke exhaust, reduced power, and increased fuel consumption.

5. Check if the surface of the genset is clean, and also check if the nuts of the foot nuts, flywheel screws, and other moving parts are loose. Once problems are found, tighten them in a timely manner.

6. Check the condition of lubrication system of Cummins generator set. If the joint between the oil pipe and the pipe is inspected and any problems are found, they should be promptly addressed and resolved; Check the oil level of the oil pan, pull out the dipstick next to the crankcase, and observe whether the height of the joint meets the regulations. Otherwise, add more oil.

7. Check if there are any issues with the startup system. For example, during startup, first check if the specific gravity of the electrolyte is between 1.240 and 1.280. If the specific gravity is less than 1.180, it indicates that there is no startup electricity; Check if the power supply line is correct, etc.

8. Place each cylinder in a depressurized position, rotate the crankshaft to check for any abnormal sound and abnormal rotation of the cylinder components. At the same time, pump the oil into a friction surface, turn off the cylinder mechanism, shake the crankshaft, and check for air leakage in the cylinder. If the crankshaft is shaken, it feels laborious, indicating normal compression.

9. Check whether the gaps between each part are correct, especially carefully check whether the gaps of several pressure reducing mechanisms in the inlet and exhaust valve gaps meet the requirements.
