A Tailored 100kVA Silent Diesel Generator Set for a New Zealand Customer

Understanding the customer's needs

In January 2026, we received an inquiry from a New Zealand customer who needed a diesel generator set but was uncertain about the required power rating. He planned to use a diesel generator to power a welding machine, a compressor, plasma cutting machines, and general engineering workshop electric tools. Additionally, the generator would serve as backup charging for his off-grid solar home during bad weather.

The customer provided a detailed equipment list and mentioned that he works alone – meaning not all devices run simultaneously. For example, the cutting machine is not used while welding.

Our recommendation: A 100kVA soundproof diesel genset

After careful analysis, we recommended a 100kVA (80kW) diesel generating set. This capacity not only meets the power demand of all connected equipment, including worst-case load scenarios and starting surges, but also provides sufficient margin for recharging the off-grid solar home, ensuring safe and reliable electricity.

The customer agreed with our proposal and requested the installation of four waterproof sockets. Following his requirements, we equipped the generator set with two IP66 5-pin industrial waterproof sockets (three-phase, 32A output) and two 3-pin waterproof sockets (single phase, 15A and 16A output)

The customer preferred the Cummins engine and Stamford alternator. We matched his request with the reliable Cummins 4BTA3.9-G13 engine and the Stamford UCI274C1 alternator, a proven combination known for durability and performance in harsh environments.

Before shipment, we conducted a full load bank test on the generator. The load test video, as well as footage showing the installed waterproof sockets, were shared with the customer. He expressed his satisfaction with the quality and workmanship.
