1. Remove the side cover plate of the engine body and observe the water leakage around each cylinder liner. If water drips down on the inner wall of the cylinder liner, then:

The cylinder liner has sand holes; Cracks are found inside the cylinder head; The cylinder gasket is damaged.

There are sand holes in the cylinder liner or cracks in the cylinder head, which lead to water leakage. In general, another phenomenon will occur, that is, when the cooling water radiator starts the diesel engine, there is water or bubbles at the water tank filler, and the cylinder gasket is damaged. When the diesel generator is started, the sound of air leakage will reappear. If the cooling water radiator has bubbles or water overflows, and the diesel generator set is started, there is no sound of air blowing at the cylinder gasket, Generally, it can be concluded that the cylinder head has cracks or the cylinder liner has sand holes.

2. If there is water dripping on the outer wall of the cylinder liner, it can be considered that the sealing ring of the cylinder liner or the red copper gasket under the cylinder liner is unevenly placed or damaged.

3. There is oil at the water inlet of the cooling water radiator, and water enters the oil shell. Generally, it can be concluded that the oil radiator is damaged; If the engine oil cooling mode of 500KW generator set is air cooling, it can be determined that the cylinder head has cracks, leading to the water channel in the cylinder head being connected with the oil channel, causing water to enter the oil pan and the cooling water radiator to enter the engine oil.

If the above conditions are not met, it can be concluded that there are cracks inside the engine block. If the water in the oil shell of the diesel generator set is not handled in time, it will cause serious consequences. For example, failures such as cylinder scratch and bush pulling will lead to the scrapping of the diesel generator set.
