Two Cummins KTA50-G3 Generator Units are Successfully Combined

With the increasing number of electrical equipment and the increasing power load, the power demand of generator sets is also increasing, and sometimes the power of a single generator set can no longer meet the power supply demand, so there are two or more parallel units. That is to use two or more generator sets of the same power or different power to generate electricity and use them simultaneously. The advantage of using two or more diesel generator sets in parallel is that when the required load is not large, only one or two diesel generator sets need to be opened, and the use cost is much lower; When the power of one or two generator sets is insufficient due to the required load change, the other generator sets will be automatically turned on, automatically changed, and the automatic load will be evenly distributed through the fully automatic transformer cabinet, without the need for manual frequency regulation and load regulation.

Last month, a large domestic aquaculture farm finally decided to purchase two KTA50-G3 Cummins generator sets for parallel use through technical communication with our company's engineers in the early stage, drawing setting, and solving the construction and on-site installation scheme. After the intensive production of our workshop workers, we finally finished today.

Dingbo power generator unit is assembled with Cummins diesel engine KTA50-G3 and Stamford original alternator, with base fuel tank. The genset power is 1000KW as standard. The parallel controller is Zhengzhou SmartGen HGM9510 automatic parallel. Under the condition that the phase sequence of each generator set in parallel operation is the same, the synchronous parallel device of the generator set to be paralleled automatically adjusts the frequency of the generator set to be paralleled after it is automatically put into operation. The voltage automatically tracks the output voltage, frequency and phase angle of the operating unit. When the three spare parts of each generator set are equal or within a certain error, the synchronous parallel device automatically sends the parallel signal, and puts the generator set to be paralleled into parallel operation.

If the above indicators are exceeded, the synchronous parallel device will automatically lock. Ensure the safety and reliability of parallel operation.

The paralleling screen of generator sets is equipped with manual quasi-synchronization paralleling function and automatic quasi-synchronization paralleling function to realize synchronous paralleling generation of two or more generator sets, and the automatic paralleling time is less than 60 seconds.

Manual quasi-synchronization parallel machine is equipped with synchronization S meter, synchronization indicator, and manual quasi-synchronization parallel machine protection device. When the phase angle of parallel machine is more than 20 degrees, the parallel machine system will automatically lock.

Each generator set can automatically and accurately adjust the output voltage and frequency. Manually adjust and lock accurately.

When the system is set in parallel operation mode, the system can automatically supply power for parallel operation or automatically disconnect from parallel operation according to the load.

When the load is less than 80% of the capacity of a single machine, it will be automatically split in advance.

If the load is greater than 85% of the capacity of the single machine, the machine will be automatically started and paralleled after the withdrawal of the machine.

Composition and function of parallel control system

The whole system is composed of one or more automatic parallel screens. Automatic parallel screen is the core of the whole control system.

It is installed to control the automatic paralleling and automatic load distribution of two or more units. The automatic paralleling device integrates the automatic paralleling control and automatic load distribution. The automatic paralleling controller is a full-digital controller GPC. The full digital controller is highly integrated, integrating automatic frequency regulation, voltage regulation, automatic load distribution, overcurrent, overvoltage and undervoltage.
