Anti-freezing fluid is an indispensable heat dissipation medium for the normal operation of diesel generator sets. Its main functions are two: one is to antifreeze the water tank of the unit, which will not freeze and expand and burst in winter; The second is to cool the engine. When the engine is running, the effect of using antifreeze as circulating cooling liquid is obvious.

How to select antifreeze for diesel generator set?

The freezing point and boiling point of antifreeze are the criteria to judge its quality. Generally, common antifreeze can reach - 40 ℃, while high-quality antifreeze should reach about - 60 ℃. The lower the freezing point, the better the quality. The boiling point of glycol alcohol of antifreeze is 197.4 ℃, and the freezing point is - 11.5 ℃. It can be mixed with water in any proportion. After mixing, the freezing point is significantly reduced due to changing the vapor pressure of cooling water. The higher the proportion of glycol, the lower the freezing point. The other is the boiling point of antifreeze. The boiling point of water is 100 ℃, while the antifreeze should reach at least 108 ℃, and some can even reach 110 ℃. That is to say, the lower the freezing point, the higher the boiling point, and the greater the temperature difference, the better the quality of antifreeze. Generally speaking, the freezing point of the selected antifreeze should be 10 ℃ lower than the local minimum temperature, leaving more room to prevent sudden cooling at some times.

The antifreeze can make the diesel generator set work effectively in winter. When filling antifreeze, slowly loosen the cover, and open the cover only after all the steam is discharged to avoid scalding; Replace antifreeze regularly, and prevent leakage when adding it. There are red, green and blue antifreeze, which can be easily found when leakage occurs. Once found, dry the leakage and check the leakage; The antifreeze of different brands must not be mixed. The antifreeze specified by the manufacturer must be added, otherwise it will cause chemical reaction and corrode diesel generating set.
