Causes of Oil Related Faults of Daewoo Diesel Generator

The piston cooling system is adopted to realize the temperature control of cylinder and combustion chamber. The engine runs smoothly and has little vibration. 1. The refrigerator burns oil. Generally, the oil burning of the refrigerator refers to the oil burning during the first start in the morning.

Judgment method: when starting the diesel engine for the first time every morning, there will be relatively thick blue smoke discharged from the rear air pipe. After a period of time, the blue smoke disappears, and there is generally no similar situation on that day.


Causes of Oil Related Faults of Daewoo Diesel Generator


Occurs (if the previous situation occurs for a long time, there may be blue smoke when parking in place and stalling for a long time). The same problem will happen again in the morning. In other cases, there is no blue smoke. If this happens, it belongs to the cold engine burning oil.


Cause: the valve oil seal is aging and severely worn due to long-term use, It has been unable to achieve good sealing effect (When the diesel engine is not running for a long time, the oil will flow into the cylinder through the valve oil seal under the action of gravity. When the diesel engine is started, the oil in the cylinder will burn under the action of high temperature and high pressure to produce a large amount of blue smoke. When the diesel engine is heated, the sealing effect of the valve oil seal will become better, so the phenomenon of oil burning in the hot engine disappears.


2. Burn oil when accelerating. Burning engine oil during acceleration means that when the diesel engine accelerates, the exhaust pipe emits blue smoke, but the blue smoke disappears after steady speed operation.

Judgment method: a large amount of blue smoke is discharged from the exhaust pipe when the driver slams on the accelerator when the vehicle is driving or when the driver slams on the accelerator when running in place. In serious cases, when the driver slams on the accelerator when the vehicle is driving, the driver can see the blue smoke from the reflector on the side of the exhaust pipe.


Cause: due to the loose sealing between the piston ring on the diesel engine piston and the cylinder wall, the oil directly flows from the crankcase to the cylinder during rapid acceleration, resulting in oil burning.


3. Blue smoke is emitted from the exhaust pipe and pulsating blue smoke is emitted from the oil port.

This oil burning phenomenon may be caused by the excessive clearance between the piston and the cylinder wall, the small elasticity of the piston ring, locking or matching, the excessive end clearance or edge clearance caused by the wear of the piston ring, and the exhaust gas after oil combustion enters the crankcase.


Normal engine oil consumption refers to the engine oil required to maintain the sound operation of the enterprise's fully automatic Daewoo diesel generator, which is a normal phenomenon in line with the national standard that the consumption ratio of engine oil and fuel should be less than 1%. The normal oil consumption of the engine is mainly caused by the oil entering the combustion chamber in three ways.


First, it enters through the gap between the intake and exhaust valve stem and the valve guide, because a small amount of oil must pass through the valve oil seal to reduce the valve jamming in the valve guide.


Second, it enters through the gap between the piston and the cylinder wall. As long as the piston and the cylinder wall move, there will be a gap. Regardless of the gap, some oil will be brought into the combustion chamber with the movement of the piston and burned with the mixture.


Third, the engine is equipped with crankcase ventilation device, which will introduce the gas flowing into the crankcase into the engine intake pipe, and some foggy oil particles enter the combustion chamber through the crankcase forced ventilation pipeline and burn off. It can be seen that as long as the engine is running, there is a phenomenon of "burning" engine oil. As long as the engine burned, engine oil does not meet the standard requirements and there is no abnormal phenomenon in engine operation, it will neither affect the emission index of the whole vehicle nor cause harm to the engine.


For the use of fully automatic Daewoo diesel generator in enterprises, it is inevitable that there are faults, which requires users to strengthen the inspection and maintenance of the unit in the process of using the unit to reduce unit faults.
