The excessive valve clearance of Volvo diesel generator set will lead to the delayed opening and closing of valve engine timing, and at the same time, it will cause the knocking noise of mechanical equipment. If the gap is too small, it will cause the valve timing of the engine to open and close early. If there is no gap, it will continue to cause the valve to close loosely, causing the cylinder to shrink and the working pressure to be slightly lower, resulting in a decrease in engine output power. The valve spring is usually fixed by the chain link and the spring leaf. The Gas Spring is a cylindrical spiral spring, one end of which is supported on the cylinder head (body), and the other end is pressed against the spring seat at the end of the valve stem. The spring seat is fixed at the end of the valve stem by the chain link.

When the valve is working, it must bear high temperature, high pressure, impact resistance, and difficult lubrication. Therefore, the regulations for valve production and manufacturing include sufficient compressive strength, bending stiffness, wear resistance, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, and impact resistance. The function of the valve spring is to break free from the inertia torque of the valve and transmission components during the entire process of valve closure, avoid gaps between the transmission components caused by the effect of inertia torque, ensure that the valve is immediately seated and firmly engaged, and prevent the valve from shaking and damaging its sealing when the car engine is vibrating. Therefore, the Gas Spring should have sufficient bending stiffness and installation preload.
