Assembly And Test Methods of Generator Oil Pump

As an important part of the diesel generator, the user should know more about the oil pump. In this way, the genset can be used better and the failure of the unit can be reduced. So, what are the assembly and test methods of diesel engine accessories and oil pump?

A. Assembly of diesel engine accessories and oil pump

1. Apply an appropriate amount of engine oil on the pump oil, install the driving gear on the pump shaft, and then install the driven gear. After the driving and driven gears are installed, they shall be able to mesh and rotate flexibly when rotating the pump shaft.

2. When installing the pump cover, pay attention to adjust its clearance. If the pump cover of diesel engine accessories has been ground, it is more important to adjust the gasket thickness to ensure proper clearance.

3. After the transmission gear is on the shaft, the cross pin shall be riveted.

4. After installation, check whether all screws are tightened and install the pressure limiting valve.

B. Experiment of generator oil pump

The experimental method is: invade the oil inlet and outlet holes into the oil pan. After filling with oil, block the oil outlet hole with your thumb, and turn the gear with the other hand to feel pressure with your thumb. Otherwise, find out the cause and repair it again.

C.Install into the body. 

Pay attention to the following three points when installing the diesel engine accessories and oil pump into the engine body.

1. Before installation, fill the oil pump with oil to prevent air in the pump, so that the oil pump will burn without oil.

2. The gasket between the oil pump and the engine body shall be padded to prevent oil leakage. When there is a transmission relationship between the gasoline engine oil pump and the distributor, it shall be meshed normally to avoid disordered ignition time.

3. Conduct pressure test and adjustment.

Inspection of oil pump of diesel generator set

(1) Check the backlash of driving and driven gears and oil pump The normal fit clearance of the driven gear is (0.15 ~ 0.35) mm, and the limit value is 0.75mm. During inspection, remove the pump cover bolts on the pump body, remove the pump cover, and measure the clearance at the three meshing points 120 ° apart between the driving and driven gears with a thickness gauge. If the clearance value exceeds the above specified clearance value, replace the driving and driven gears. If the clearance value exceeds the above specified clearance value, replace the driving and driven gears. If the tooth surface of the driving and driven gears If there are burrs, the Gongming diesel generator set shall be polished with an oilstone.

(2) Check the clearance between the gear end face and the pump cover. The inspection method is to install the gear back into the pump housing, put a section of fuse on the end face, install the original gasket and pump cover and tighten the screws, then remove the pump cover, take out the flattened fuse, and measure the flattened thickness of the fuse, that is, the clearance between the gear end face and the pump cover, which shall not exceed 0.12mm. If the interval exceeds the specified value, it can be adjusted by reducing shims.

(3) Check the clearance between the top surface of the gear and the pump housing. Insert a thickness gauge between the top surface of the gear and the pump housing for measurement and inspection. The normal clearance is 0.075mm. If it exceeds 0.1mm, replace it with a new accessory.

(4) Check the pressure limiting valve device, mainly check whether its spring is too soft and whether the steel ball is worn, out of roundness.
