1. The use of lube oil

(1) The lube oil used by different diesel generator manufacturers and diesel generator sets with different power is different. Generally, the lube oil replacement cycle of new generator sets is generally conducted at the same time as that of lube oil filter (filter element) after 50 hours of first operation and 50 hours of overhaul or overhaul. Generally, the lube oil replacement cycle is 250 hours or one month. Using type 2 lube oil, the lube oil can be extended for 400 hours before being replaced, but the lube oil filter (filter element) must be replaced.

(2) The replacement of the lube oil of the diesel generator set can well guarantee the stable use of the generator set, which also effectively extends the service life of the diesel generator set to a certain extent. Therefore, the replacement time of the lube oil must be determined accurately during the use of the diesel generator set.

(3) After replacing the lube oil of diesel generator, ensure that the oil level is between the low and high marks. The oil level should be checked every 8 hours during continuous use. When installing the filter element, do not add lube oil to the filter element (because the added lube oil will pollute the lubricating system if it does not pass the filter element). Wipe some lube oil on the sealing gasket, screw the filter onto the diesel generator set by hand until the sealing gasket touches the base, and then tighten it by 3/4 turns.

2. Selection of lube oil for diesel generator set

The use of the diesel generator set can not be separated from the lube oil, which can protect the generator set well and reduce the friction of the generator set. The quality of the diesel generator set directly affects the service life of the diesel generator set. Therefore, the selection and use of oil for the diesel generator is scientific.

(1) There are many brands and types of diesel generator sets, so we must choose a diesel generator set suitable for our own diesel generator. If you want to use CF level, you cannot use CD level. If you want to use Cummins diesel generator set, you should use Cummins generator special engine oil.

(2) The diesel generator set with high viscosity is required in the summer when the temperature is high, on the contrary, the diesel generator set with high viscosity and thin viscosity is required in the winter when the temperature is low.

(3) The diesel generator shall be replaced after 60 hours of running in period to prevent the polluted diesel generator from harming the diesel generator in turn.
