How to Clean the Components of the Reparied Diesel Generator

1. Removal of scale

Diesel generator set cleaning generally uses chemical removal method, adding a chemical solution for removing scale to the coolant, and then replacing the coolant after the diesel generator set has been working for a certain period of time. Commonly used chemical solutions for removing scale include: caustic soda solution or hydrochloric acid solution, sodium fluoride hydrochloric acid descaling agent and phosphoric acid descaling agent. Phosphoric acid descaling agent is suitable for removing scale on aluminum alloy parts.

2. Carbon deposit removal

A simple mechanical shovel cleaning method can be used to remove carbon deposits. That is, metal brushes or scrapers are used to clean, but this method is not easy to clean the carbon deposits, and it is easy to damage the appearance of the parts. The user can choose to use chemical methods to remove the carbon deposits, that is, first use a decarbonizer (chemical solution) to heat to 80~90℃ to swell and soften the carbon deposits on the parts, and then use a brush to remove it.

3. Oil pollution cleaning

If the oil deposits on the exterior of diesel generator set components are thick, it should be scraped off first. Generally, the oil stains on the surface of parts are cleaned. Commonly used cleaning fluids include alkaline cleaning fluids and synthetic detergents. When using alkaline cleaning fluid for thermal cleaning, heat to 70~90℃, immerse the parts for 10~15min, then take it out and rinse it with clean water, and then dry it with compressed air.

Note: It is not safe to use gasoline to clean; aluminum alloy parts cannot be cleaned in strong alkaline cleaning fluid; non-metallic rubber parts should be cleaned with alcohol or brake fluid.
