After the fuel of 350kva diesel generator is completely burned, when the load is a little heavier, the normal exhaust colour is generally light gray and dark gray. During the operation of the diesel engine, abnormal phenomena such as black smoke, white smoke, and blue smoke may occasionally appear, which is to judge the malfunction of the diesel engine.

Diesel is a complex hydrocarbon injected into the combustion chamber. Unburned diesel will decompose into black carbon at high temperatures. When exhaust gas and exhaust gas form black smoke. The black smoke indicates that the fuel in the combustion chamber is not completely burned. The main influencing factors are as follows:


1.Wear of piston rings and cylinder liners.    

After the piston ring and cylinder liner are worn, the compression pressure is insufficient, which causes the normal mixture to change at the end of the cylinder compression stroke, causing the fuel to burn under anaerobic conditions, resulting in carbon deposits.


2.Injector working ability is not very good. 

The fuel injector will not atomize or drip, making it impossible for the fuel to be completely mixed with the air in the cylinder and cannot be completely burned. 


3.Changes in the shape of the combustion chamber.

The quality management of the manufacturing enterprise for the shape of the combustion chamber does not meet the requirements of scientific and technological development. The compression residual joint is too large, too small, and the piston position is wrong. It will change the shape of the combustion chamber, which will affect the mixing of the main fuel and air. Quality, and make the fuel combustion conditions continue to deteriorate.


4.Improper adjustment of the oil supply angle in advance.

If the fuel supply advance angle is too large, fuel will be injected into the combustion chamber prematurely. At this time, the pressure and temperature in the cylinder are low, and the fuel cannot be ignited. When the piston rises, the pressure and temperature in the cylinder will reach a certain level, and the combustible mixture will burn.

 

If the system fuel supply timing advance angle is too small, and the fuel injected into the cylinder is too late, part of the fuel will be separated or discharged before we can develop into a combustible mixture. The fuel discharged from the exhaust gas decomposes at high temperature to form black smoke.


5.Oversupply of oil.  

Excessive oil supply increases the amount of oil entering the cylinder, resulting in more oil and less gas, and incomplete fuel combustion.  

1) Blue Smoke.

The lubricant enters the cylinder and evaporates into blue oil and natural gas after heating. The blue smoke is emitted together with the exhaust gas. The main reasons are as follows:

a.The air filter is blocked, the air inlet is poor or the oil level in the oil pool (oil bath air filter) is high.

b.Mix fuel oil and lubricating oil.

c.Piston ring matching.

d.The cylinder head gasket near the oil passage has burned out.

E.Friction and wear of piston rings, pistons and cylinder liner.s  

2) White smoke

When the diesel engine starts or cools, the exhaust pipe emits white smoke, which is caused by the evaporation of low-temperature oil and gas in the cylinder.

1. Cylinder liner cracks or cylinder gasket damage, cooling water enters the cylinder body, and water mist or steam is formed when exhausting.

2. Poor atomization of the fuel injector and oil dripping.

3. The fuel advance angle is too small.

4.There are water and air in the fuel.

5.The low working pressure of the fuel injection pump or the serious wear of the piston and cylinder liner will cause insufficient efficiency of the maximum compression force.
