How to Maintain Yuchai Diesel Generators Used in Special Environments

There are different maintenance methods used in different environments, sometimes in the sand and plateau environment, some are used in the summer when the heat is high, and some are used in the environment with high humidity. 1. Use and maintenance in the highland (high altitude, low pressure) environment.

When working at high altitude, the power should be reduced.

Properly adjust the carburetor (mixture composition) to make it work in the best condition to ensure a larger power output of the generator set.

2. in an environment with more Gobi desert sand and wind maintenance.

Diesel generator set working in a sandy environment, should be placed in a sheltered field or simple sandproof facilities; and to frequently clean each heat sink, air filter foam, replace the lubricant; clean the oil circuit and shell vent; electrical components and connectors contact points, to blow clean with dry air, and ensure good contact.

3. the maintenance in the high temperature and hot environment.

Keep the appearance and ventilation orifice clean to ensure good ventilation and heat dissipation conditions during operation.

Strictly control the overload operation, and check the lubricant quantity before operation; pay attention to whether the temperature of each part is overheated, whether the lubricating parts work normally, and whether there is leakage in the oil circuit during operation; appropriately increase the number of lubricant refilling for each bearing.

4.the maintenance of diesel generators used in humid environment conditions.

(1)In a humid environment, diesel generator sets and electrical components such as insulation performance will be reduced due to moisture, metal parts are corroded, and can cause serious accidents, and therefore must be carefully maintained.

(2)We should always pay attention to the insulation performance of the electrical components and lines of the generator set, when there is a fault, insulation monitoring indicator light, should carefully check the cause and eliminate. If the dampness and decline, the motor winding needs to be baked to restore its insulation performance, usually using external heating or coil current method to evaporate the dampness in the motor winding; or start the generator set, take the gradual loading method, so that the current in the motor gradually increase and drive out the dampness, to achieve the purpose of self-drying. For the genset working in humid areas, it is best to use it frequently, and if it is not used for a long time, it should be started and loaded for 1 hour every month to ensure its good insulation performance.

(3)The surface of metal parts in the humid environment is easy to be corroded and rusted, attention must be paid to the good protection of the paint coating, such as peeling off the phenomenon should be timely replenishment of paint or grease protection. The contact surface of each moving part should keep the lubricant layer attached, and if the generator set is not used for a long time, the starter should be pulled by hand every week to make the crankshaft rotate and spread the lubricant on the surface of each friction part in the cylinder to achieve the effect of anti-corrosion.
