Features of emergency generator sets.

Emergency diesel generator set common fault handling:

(1) Start-up failure. The battery is short of water or damaged causing its capacity to drop, and it cannot provide enough energy to make the emergency diesel generator start normally when it starts. In this case, the emergency diesel generator will usually start automatically 3 times, all start failures and then stop, and then alarm. The treatment method is to replace the battery pack regularly to ensure the reliability of the emergency diesel generator set.

(2) Control power failure. The power from the emergency diesel generator needs to be sent to the emergency bus through QF2, however, the automatic switching of QF1 and QF2 requires an operating power supply to guarantee. The operating power is supplied by a small dedicated UPS (1kVA), which needs to be maintained in a timely manner due to its poor reliability. If the UPS fails to function at a critical moment, it is necessary to take a nearby power supply as soon as possible.

(3) ATS switching is not successful. After the utility power failure, QF1 automatically shuts down, while the emergency diesel generator self-starts successfully, but QF2 can not automatically close, resulting in the failure of power delivery. QF2 is electrically stored and automatically closed, in case of emergency, under the condition of safety, manual storage and closing is used to ensure that the generator power is sent out smoothly.

(4) Sudden stop in operation. The situation is generally caused by the lack of fuel or cooling water over temperature. When the equipment is in normal operation, we should strengthen the inspection, pay attention to the operation data of the equipment, grasp the operation of the equipment, and ensure safe and reliable operation.

(5)  The ambient temperature is low. The ambient temperature is too low when the emergency diesel generator is not easy to start, so if necessary, you can use local or whole machine preheating measures (such as the installation of cooling water electric heater) to ensure that the unit in the normal starting temperature.
