How to Use Silent Container Generator Correctly to Extend Service Life

In winter, when the weather is cold, it is usually difficult to start the diesel generator, so the maintenance of diesel generator set in winter is particularly important. Then, how to use the diesel generator correctly and extend the service life of the diesel generator set?

In winter, it is more difficult to start the engine due to the low ambient temperature, because the temperature of the intake air of the diesel engine, the temperature of the cooling water, the temperature of the lubricating oil, the temperature of the fuel and the temperature of the electrolyte in the battery are all reduced accordingly. If the diesel engine cannot be used correctly at this time, it will cause difficulty in starting, decrease in power, increase in fuel consumption, and even unable to work normally. Therefore, when using a diesel engine in winter, you should pay attention to the following eight points to better protect silent container generator and extend its service life.

1. When the diesel generator is started in winter, the air temperature in the cylinder is low, and it is difficult for the piston to compress the gas to reach the natural temperature of diesel. Therefore, the corresponding auxiliary method should be adopted before starting to increase the temperature of the body.

2. The low temperature in winter can easily cause excessive cooling of diesel generators during operation. Therefore, heat preservation is the key to good use of diesel generator sets in winter. If it is in the north, all diesel generator sets used in winter should be equipped with cold-proof equipment such as insulation sleeves and insulation curtains.

3. Run at idling speed before turning off the flame, wait until the cooling water temperature drops below 60°C and the water does not burn your hands, turn off the flame and release the water. If the cooling water is discharged prematurely, the body will shrink suddenly when the temperature is high, and cracks will appear. When draining water, the remaining water in the body should be completely drained to prevent it from freezing and swelling and causing the body to burst.

4. After the diesel generator starts, run at low speed for 3-5 minutes to increase the temperature of the diesel generator, check the working condition of the lubricating oil, and put it into normal operation only after it is normal. When the diesel generator is running, try to avoid sudden acceleration of the speed or stepping on the throttle to the maximum operation, otherwise the long time will affect the service life of the valve assembly.

5. Due to the poor working environment in winter, it is necessary to change the air filter element frequently at this time. Because the air filter element and diesel filter element are particularly demanding in cold weather, if it is not replaced in time, it will increase the wear of the engine and directly affect the life of the diesel generator.

6. After the diesel generator set started to catch fire, some workers could not wait to put into load operation immediately. This is wrong operation. Diesel generators that have just started up, due to the low body temperature and high oil viscosity, the oil is not easy to fill the friction surface of the moving pair, which will cause serious machine wear. In addition, plunger springs, valve springs and injector springs are also prone to breakage due to "cold brittleness". Therefore, after the diesel generator starts to catch fire in winter, it should be idling for a few minutes at low and medium speed, and then put into load operation when the cooling water temperature reaches 60℃.

7. Do not remove the air filter. Dip cotton yarn into diesel oil and ignite it as a firelighter, which is placed in the intake pipe to start combustion. In this way, during the startup process, the dust-laden air from the outside will be directly sucked into the cylinder without being filtered, causing abnormal wear of pistons, cylinders and other parts, and also causing the diesel generator to work rough and damaging the machine.

8. Some users are able to quickly start diesel generator sets, they often start without water, that is, start first, and then add cooling water to engine cooling system. This practice can cause serious damage to the machine and should be prohibited from being used. The correct preheating method is: first cover the heat preservation quilt on the water tank, open the drain valve, and continuously pour 60-70℃ clean and soft water into the water tank, and then close the drain valve when you touch the water flowing out of the drain valve with your hands and feel hot. Fill the water tank with clean and soft water at 90-100℃, and shake the crankshaft so that all moving parts are properly pre-lubricated before starting.
