Precautions and Maintenance Requirements for Diesel Generator

1.Precautions for use of diesel generator

1.1 Keep the diesel generator set clean

If dust, water stains and other sundries enter the diesel generator set during operation. It will form a short-circuit medium, which can damage the insulation layer of the conductor, cause inter turn short circuit, increase the current and temperature, and burn the diesel generator set.

1.2. Observe frequently and listen carefully. Stop the machine immediately after smelling the peculiar smell

Observe the diesel generator set for vibration, noise and abnormal smell. The diesel generator set is in operation. In particular, high-power diesel generator sets should often check whether the anchor bolts, diesel generator set end caps, bearing glands, etc. are loose, and whether the grounding device is reliable.

1.3. Frequently check whether the temperature and temperature rise of the diesel generator set during operation are too high

Always check whether the bearings of diesel generator set are overheated and lack of oil. If the temperature rise near the bearings is too high. Stop the machine immediately for inspection. Whether the rolling element and raceway surface of the bearing have cracks, scratches or damages. Whether the bearing clearance is too large and shaking, whether the inner ring rotates on the shaft, etc. In case of the above phenomenon, the bearing must be renewed.

2. Maintenance of diesel generator

2.1 Running in period

This is the basis for extending the service life, whether it is a new car or an overhauled engine. They must be run in according to the regulations before they can be put into normal operation.

2.2 Keep oil, water, air and engine clean

Diesel and gasoline are the main fuels of the engine. If diesel and gasoline are not pure, they will wear the precise matching body. The matching clearance increases, causing oil leakage, oil dripping, and the oil supply pressure decreases. The clearance becomes larger, and even causes serious faults such as oil circuit blockage, shaft holding and bush burning.

2.3. Enough oil, enough water, enough air

If the supply of diesel, gasoline and air is not timely or interrupted, there will be difficulties in starting, poor combustion and power reduction. The engine cannot operate normally. If the oil supply is insufficient or interrupted, the engine lubrication will be poor. The body is seriously worn and even burnt.

2.4. Always check the fastening parts

Due to the impact of vibration and uneven load during the use of diesel and gasoline engines, bolts and nuts are easy to loosen. In addition, the adjusting bolts of all parts should be checked to avoid the accident of causing looseness and damaging the body.

2.5. Check and adjust the valve clearance, valve timing, fuel supply advance angle, fuel injection pressure and ignition timing of diesel or gasoline engines. In order to ensure that the engine is always in good technical condition, fuel can be saved and service life can be extended.

2.6. Use the engine correctly

Before starting, the lubricating parts such as bearing shells should be lubricated. After starting, it should be put into operation when the water temperature reaches 40 ℃~50 ℃. It is strictly forbidden to overload or operate at low speed for a long time. Before shutdown, remove the load and reduce the speed.
