What Harm Does Diesel Generator Do If Not Maintain

For diesel generators, what will happen if we only use them without maintenance? Let's take a look.

1.Cooling system

If the cooling system is faulty, it will lead to two results: 1) Shutdown due to excessive water temperature in the unit due to lack of cooling effect; 2) If the water level in the water tank drops due to water leakage in the water tank, the unit will not operate normally.

2.Fuel / valve system

The increase of carbon deposition will affect the fuel injection quantity of the fuel injection nozzle to a certain extent, resulting in insufficient burning of the fuel injection nozzle, uneven fuel injection quantity of each cylinder of the engine and unstable operation condition.

3.Diesel generator battery

If the battery is not maintained for a long time, the water in the electrolyte will not be compensated in time after evaporation. There is no starting battery charger, and the power of the battery will be reduced after long-term natural discharge.

4. Engine Oil

If the oil is not used for a long time, the physical and chemical functions of the oil will change, resulting in deterioration of the cleanliness of the unit during operation and damage to the unit parts.

5.Diesel generator oil tank

When the water enters diesel generator set, the water vapor in the air will condense under the change of temperature, form water droplets and hang on the inner wall of the oil tank. When the water droplets flow into the diesel, the water content of the diesel will exceed the standard. When such diesel enters the engine high-pressure oil pump, the precision coupling will be corroded, and if it is serious, the unit will be damaged.

6.Three filtration.

During the operation of the diesel generator set, oil or impurities will be deposited on the filter screen wall, and excessive deposition will reduce the filtering function of the filter. If there is too much deposition, the oil circuit will not be dredged. When the equipment works, it will not be used normally because the oil cannot be supplied.

7.Lubrication system and seals of diesel generator

Due to the chemical characteristics of lubricating oil or oil ester and iron filings after mechanical wear, these not only reduce its lubrication effect, but also damage other parts. At the same time, due to the certain corrosion effect of lubricating oil on rubber sealing ring, other oil seals themselves are aging at any time, which reduces their sealing effect.
