1. Do not overload

Once the diesel generator set is overloaded, it will emit black smoke, which means that the diesel is not completely burned; as long as the unit emits black smoke, it will increase fuel consumption and even reduce the normal operation period of components. Let the diesel generator set run in a proper state to avoid excessive fuel consumption. It is best to choose the load at about 50% to 80% of the rated power of the generator set, because the state is the lowest fuel consumption.

2. Do a good job in diesel filtration

Because diesel contains a variety of minerals and impurities, if the sediment is not filtered out, it will affect the work of the plunger and the fuel injection head, resulting in unbalanced fuel supply, poor fuel atomization, etc., and the fuel cannot be fully burned, resulting in a large amount of waste not only pollutes the environment, but also makes the engine seem more fuel-intensive.

3. Regularly remove carbon deposits

When the diesel engine is running, there are polymers attached to the valve, valve seat, fuel injector and the top of the piston, resulting in a decrease in engine performance. If the engine wants to maintain the same power, it needs a larger diesel supply, burns more diesel, and improves fuel consumption, and should be cleaned regularly.

4. Keep the water temperature

If the cooling water temperature of the diesel engine is too low, the combustion of diesel will be incomplete, which will affect the performance of power and waste diesel. Therefore, use insulation properly. Note: Soft water without minerals is used for cooling water, and hard water such as flowing river water is prohibited.

5. Do regular inspections and clear faults regularly

Aside from the above reasons, in fact, regular and reasonable maintenance is really important to reduce unnecessary wrong operations or solve some small faults. It can avoid larger faults to a certain extent and can effectively reduce fuel consumption.
