How to Decrease the Consumption of Perkins Diesel Genset

After we use diesel generators, we should check and maintain the generator regularly and remove the carbon deposit in time. Regularly remove some minerals or impurities precipitated at the bottom of the oil tank after use. Maintain a certain water temperature and do not overload operation.

Besides, we should do good job for bellow items:

1. Maintain the best oil supply angle. Because the deviation of oil supply angle will cause too late oil supply time and greatly increase fuel consumption.

2. Ensure there is no diesel oil leakage in Perkins diesel genset. The method is that coat the gasket with valve paint, grind it flat on the glass plate and align the oil pipe joint. And can add a diesel recovery device, then connect the air core screw with a plastic pipe to the return pipe on the nozzle to make the return oil flow into the oil tank.

3. Increase the temperature of the cooling water of the diesel engine. The increase of the water temperature can make the diesel burn more completely, which reduce the viscosity of the engine oil and the movement resistance to reach the fuel saving effect.

4. Appropriately increase the belt pulley of the diesel engine. Increase the speed of the water pump when the diesel engine runs at a reduced speed, so that can increase the flow and head to achieve the purpose of energy saving.

5. Clean the diesel oil before use. More than half of the faults of diesel generator set come from the oil supply system. The treatment method is that the purchased diesel oil can be used after being deposited for 2-4 days, which can precipitate 98% of the impurities. If it is purchased and used now, two layers of silk cloth or toilet paper can be placed at the refueling filter screen of the oil tank to filter out impurities.

6. Adjust the injection pressure of the fuel injector.

 

It is believed that as long as the above six energy-saving schemes are well done, the fuel consumption of Perkins diesel generator set (available for other diesel genset) will be greatly reduced, and the working efficiency of generator set can be brought into full play to reduce the cost of users.

 

In addition to the above work, we should also pay attention to the selection of diesel oil.

We should use the diesel oil recommended in the diesel generator set operation manual, as this is usually the most suitable for the current diesel generator set. Using the correct diesel oil can reduce the maintenance of the generator set and increase the service life of the diesel engine.

 

We should select diesel oil according to the ambient temperature in the area where the generator set is used. When ambient temperature is 5-42 ℃, we can use 0#, - 10# light diesel oil. Southern region can use 10# light diesel oil; It is recommended to use -20#, -35# light diesel oil in the northern winter alpine region.
