Here we can tell you because there is air in the fuel way or fuel tank, you need to drain all air out, then generator will work normally. In fact, after the users checked the fuel way, there was air. After they drained the air, the generator worked normally. 


If want 600kw diesel generator for office building to work normally, no air will be allowed in the pipeline of the fuel supply system, otherwise the engine will be difficult to start or easily stalled. This is because air has great compressibility and elasticity. When there is a leakage point in the oil pipe between the fuel tank and the diesel engine fuel pump section, air will infiltrate, which will reduce the vacuum in this section of the pipeline, weaken the suction of the fuel in the fuel tank, or even cut off the flow, causing the engine to fail to start . In the case of less air mixed in diesel fuel, the oil flow can still be maintained and sent from the fuel delivery pump to the fuel injection pump, but the engine may have difficulty starting, or it may self-extinguish after a short period of time after starting.

When a little more air is mixed into the fuel circuit, it will cause several cylinders to cut off the fuel or significantly reduce the fuel injection volume, making the diesel engine unable to start.

How to find and stop leaks in the fuel pipeline?

The fuel system of diesel generator can be divided into low pressure fuel circuit and high pressure fuel circuit. The low-pressure fuel circuit refers to a section of the fuel circuit from the fuel tank to the low-pressure fuel cavity of the fuel injection pump. The high-pressure oil path refers to a section of oil path from the plunger cavity in the high-pressure pump to the fuel injection nozzle.

In the supply system of the plunger pump, there is no air infiltration in the high-pressure oil circuit. Leaks will cause fuel leakage. So, find a way to plug the leaks.


Diesel generators mostly use soft hoses in the low-pressure fuel circuit of the fuel supply system. The hoses are prone to friction with parts, causing fuel leakage and air intake. Fuel leaks are easier to find, while damaged air intake somewhere in the pipeline is not easy to find. The following is the method to determine the leakage point of the low pressure oil circuit. 

1. Drain the air in the fuel circuit, and after starting the engine, find out where the diesel is leaking, which is the leaking point. Loosen the bleed screw of the fuel injection pump of the engine and pump fuel with a manual fuel pump. And after repeated hand pumps, the bubbles still do not disappear, it can be determined that there is a leak in the negative pressure fuel path between the fuel tank and the fuel pump section. This fuel leakage pipeline should be removed, and then lead to the pressurized gas, and put it in the water, find out where the bubbles are, that is, the leak point.

 

In addition, the fuel pipeline is blocked, such as the blockage of the fuel injection nozzle, which will causes diesel generator starting failure. At this time, the fuel circuit must be cleaned to make the fuel circuit unblocked. So that generator will start normally.


It is also common for the diesel generator air system to fail to start the generator set. This situation is generally due to negligence of management by the staff and infrequent maintenance of the generator. The air filter is not cleaned for a long time, and there are too many sundries such as dust. As a result, the air cannot be supplied to the diesel engine and the generator set cannot start normally. At this time, the air filter needs to be cleaned or replaced, and the fault will be eliminated.
