Diesel engine specifications require clean, water-free diesel, and low sulfur content. In general, bS.2891: A1 or A2 grade fuel, or GB252 or DIN/EN590, ASTMD975-88:1-D and 2-D standard diesel fuel, and the appropriate grade according to the temperature of the workplace. Fuel use should be strictly controlled from the outset to ensure cleanliness of fuel, and if the project is done well, expensive engine repairs can be avoided. Before the oil in the tank is added to the tank, it should be left for 24 hours to settle the foreign matter in the tank. Clean the oil hole around the oil barrel with a cloth before opening the oil hole cover. Hose and hand pump units used must be kept in a clean environment.

 

Choice of lubricating oil (oil)

When cooling the generator set, add lubricating oil to the engine oil pan until the maximum scale of the dipstick is reached. Different engines work under different temperature conditions to choose the oil viscosity group is also different, China uses the international general American Society of Automotive Engineering (SEA) viscosity classification, namely SEAJ300 engine viscosity classification

 

W stands for Winter, meaning Winter, consciousness refers to the viscosity of oil, suitable for Winter use, the classification has six Winter oil viscosity levels (0W-25W) and four summer oil viscosity groups (20-25). Low temperature dynamic viscosity (Mpa.s, i.e. Milipaska · s), maximum boundary pumping water temperature and minimum kinematic viscosity at 100℃ are required for each winter oil limit level. The two requirements of low temperature dynamic viscosity and boundary pumping temperature reflect the difficulty of the oil viscosity level to successfully start the engine and enter the normal lubrication state in winter, that is, the difficulty of starting the engine at low temperature from 0W to 25W increases successively. The minimum kinematic viscosity at 100℃ reflects the evaporation loss of winter viscosity level at high temperature, that is, lower viscosity means greater evaporation loss; High oil consumption due to evaporation loss. The summer oil viscosity class only requires the 100 ° C kinematic viscosity range. Thus, the viscosity level from 0 to point 0 increases with the increase of viscosity, the oil film thickness formed by the friction surface of the engine increases, which increases the engine energy consumption (oil consumption), and each reduction of a viscosity level can save about 0.5% of energy consumption.

Winter oil viscosity grades and summer oil viscosity grades are combined, such as 5W/30, 15W/40, and 20W/50. Engine oils with two viscosity grades are called multi-stage oils, such as 15W/40 oil, which means that this oil corresponds to the viscosity requirement of 15W single-stage oil in winter and SAE40 in summer. This multi-group oil can be used in both winter and summer; It can be used in both the cold north and the hot south, and has the advantages of wide temperature range and wide area range. It also has energy saving characteristics. Compared with single-stage oil (summer oil), the former can save fuel 2-5% than the latter. Diesel multi-stage oil has been popularized to about 50% in North America and Western Europe. In the future, the proportion of multi-stage oil will be further increased and tends to be low viscosity. For our generator sets, we recommend using 15W/40 oil in most parts of the country.
