1. Car detection method

When it is suspected that the generator does not generate electricity, it can detect the generator on the vehicle without disassembling it, and judge whether there is a problem or not.

1.1 Multimeter voltage test

The multimeter knob to DC voltage 30V (or with a general DC voltmeter appropriate file), the red meter pen is connected to the generator "armature" column, the black meter pen is connected to the shell, so that the engine is running above the medium speed, the voltage specification value of 12V electrical system should be about 14V, the voltage specification value of 24V electrical system should be about 28V. If the voltage measured is the battery voltage, it indicates that the generator is not generating power.

1.2 External ammeter detection

When there is no ammeter on the dashboard of a car, an external DC ammeter can be used for detection. First remove the lead of the connecting column of the generator "armature", and then connect the positive pole of the DC ammeter with the measuring range of about 20A to the generator "armature", and connect the negative pole lead to the above removed connector. When the engine is running above medium speed (no other electrical equipment is used), the ammeter has 3A~5A charging indication, indicating that the generator is working normally, otherwise the generator will not generate electricity.

1.3 Light test (car bulb) method

When do not have multimeter and DC electricity meter, usable car bulb does a test lamp to detect. Weld the right length of wire to each end of the bulb and attach the alligator clip to each end. Before testing, remove the wire of the generator "armature" connecting column, and then clamp one end of the test lamp to the generator "armature" connecting column, and put iron on the other end. When the engine runs at medium speed, the test light illuminates the normal operation of the generator, or the generator will not generate electricity.

1.4 Change the engine speed to observe the brightness of headlights

After starting the engine, turn on the headlights and let the engine speed gradually improve from idle speed to medium speed. If the brightness of the headlights increases with the progress of speed, it indicates that the generator is working normally, or it is not generating power.

1.5 Remove the battery rail to see the engine
