4.Standard reference conditions for nominal power of diesel generator sets

In order to determine the rated power of the generator set, the following standard reference conditions shall be adopted:

Total air pressure: PR = 100KPA;

Air temperature: tr = 298K (TR = 25 ℃);

Relative humidity: φ r=30%

For the rated power (ISO power) of RIC engine, the following standard reference conditions are adopted:

Absolute atmospheric pressure, PR = 100KPA;

Air temperature, TR = 298K (25 ℃);

Relative humidity, φ r=30%;

Intake air cooling temperature. TCT = 298K (25 ℃).

For the rated power of a.c generator, the following standard conditions shall be adopted:

Cooling air temperature: < 313k (40 ℃);

Coolant temperature at cooler inlet < 298K (25 ℃)

Altitude: ≤ 1000m.

5.Site conditions of diesel generator set

The generator set is required to operate under site conditions, and some performance of the unit may be affected. The contract signed between the user and the manufacturer shall be considered.

In order to determine the site rated power of the generator set, when the site operating conditions are different from the standard reference conditions, the power of the generator set shall be adjusted as necessary.

6.Definition of diesel generator set power

a. Continuous power (COP)

Under the agreed operating conditions and maintenance according to the manufacturer's regulations, the generator set operates continuously at a constant load and the maximum power of unlimited operating hours per year.

b.Base power (PRP)

Under the agreed operating conditions and maintenance according to the manufacturer's regulations, the generator set operates continuously at variable load and the maximum power with unlimited operating hours per year. The allowable average power output (PPP) over a 24-hour operating cycle shall not exceed 70% of the PRP unless otherwise agreed with the RIC engine manufacturer.

Note: in applications where the allowable average power output PRP is higher than the specified value, the continuous power cop shall be used.

When determining the actual average power output (PPA) of a variable power sequence, when the power is less than 30% PRP, it is calculated as 30%, and the shutdown time is not included.

c. Limited time operating power (LTP)

Under the agreed operating conditions and maintenance in accordance with the manufacturer's regulations, the generator set can operate for up to 500h per year.

Note: according to 100% time limited operation power, the maximum operation time per year is 500h.

d. Emergency standby power (ESP)

Under the agreed operating conditions and maintenance in accordance with the manufacturer's regulations, once the commercial power is interrupted or under the test conditions, the generator set operates at variable load and the annual operation hours can reach the maximum power of 200h.

The allowable average power output (PRP) during 24h operation period shall not exceed 70% ESP, unless otherwise agreed with RIC engine manufacturer.

The actual average power output (PPA) shall be less than or equal to the allowable average power output (PPP) as defined by esp.

When determining the actual average output (PPA) of a variable rate sequence, when the power is less than 30% ESP, it is calculated as 30%, and the shutdown time is not included.

7.Performance level of diesel generator set

Level G1: this requirement applies to connected loads that only need to specify the basic parameters of their voltage and frequency.

Level G2: this level is applicable to loads with the same voltage characteristics as the public power system. When the load changes, there can be temporary but allowable deviation of voltage and frequency.

Level G3: this level is applicable to the connecting equipment with strict requirements on the stability and level of frequency, voltage and waveform characteristics.

Example: load controlled by radio communication and silicon controlled rectifier. In particular, it should be recognized that the influence of load on the voltage waveform of generator set needs special consideration.

Level G4: this level is applicable to loads with particularly strict requirements on frequency, voltage and waveform characteristics.

Example: data processing equipment or computer system.
