In many cases, the new generator will be a different brand than the original generator. So, what should we pay attention to when choosing a new unit, what technical analysis should we do?

1. What are the necessary conditions for parallel operation of a generator set?

One. When two generator sets are combined, whether they are of the same brand or different brand, the following factors must be the same:

(1)Same voltage

(2) the same frequency

(3) in phase

(4) with phase sequence

2. Control requirements

(1) The parallel control module outputs the voltage regulating signal to the parallel generator set.

(2) The parallel control module outputs speed control signals to the governor of the parallel engine.

Two. What do I need to know about the original generator set when selecting a new generator set? 

1. Voltage grade: select a new generator set with the same voltage grade according to the original set voltage grade;

2. Rated speed: select the new generator set with the same rated speed according to the voltage grade of the original generator set;

3. Adjustable phase sequence: the phase sequence can be adjusted during installation, and the phase sequence of two generator sets can be adjusted during installation.

4. Generator coil pitch: select a new generator with the same pitch according to the original generator coil pitch;

5. Type of voltage regulator: When the voltage of two parallel generator sets is slightly different, the parallel module will send instructions to the voltage regulator of the two generators to adjust the voltage of the two generators to the same value. Different voltage regulators can receive different signals, we will choose the parallel module according to the voltage regulator can receive signals;

6. Governor type: If the parallel speed of two generator sets is slightly different, the parallel module will issue instructions to the two engine governors to adjust the two engines to the same speed. Different governor can receive different signals, we will choose the parallel module according to the signal that the governor can receive.

According to the specific configuration of the original unit and the new unit, select the parallel control module and formulate the parallel scheme.

The output control signals of different parallel modules are different, and the signals that can be accepted by the regulator and governor of the parallel generator set are also different. Therefore, we must consider parallelism when selecting new cells. Select the same voltage regulator and governor as the original generator set. Determine the parallel control module and parallel scheme of two units.

When selecting a new generator set, we need to consider the voltage class of the new generator set, rated speed, generator pitch, type of regulator and type of governor. According to the information of the original unit and the new unit, the appropriate parallel control module is selected.
