Reasons for Diesel Fuel Entering Oil Pan of Deutz Genset

In case of oil leakage, water leakage, air leakage and other faults of Deutz genset, it will increase the fuel consumption of diesel generator set, accelerate the wear of parts and reduce power. Therefore, it must be repaired in time. So, what is the main reason why diesel oil is contained in the oil pan of Deutz diesel generator set?


In fact, the main reasons are leakage of oil transfer pump, failure of piston ring, serious wear of piston or cylinder liner and lax closing of inlet and exhaust valves. The plunger of the fuel injection pump is seriously worn and the fuel injection nozzle drips oil. When the rated pressure of the fuel injector is high and the regulating pressure is low, these factors may cause the diesel oil of the fuel system to leak into the oil pan. The fuel supply of the fuel injection pump is too large, the combustion is incomplete, and the excess diesel flows into the oil pan along the cylinder wall. When the fuel injection pump is calibrated, if the set oil quantity of individual plunger is too large, the excess diesel will enter the oil pan.

Here are another reasons of diesel oil in oil pan of Deutz genset:

1. The plunger of the fuel injection pump is severely worn, causing a large amount of diesel oil to leak into the camshaft chamber and randomly flow into the oil pan.

2. The fuel pump connected to the fuel injection pump is damaged, and the internal leakage is serious. Diesel fuel will also enter the fuel chamber of the fuel injection pump, and then enter the oil pan with the return fuel, causing the fuel level to rise.
3. Due to the cylinder pulling failure, the compression pressure of individual cylinders is too low, the fuel injected into the cylinder does not burn, and the diesel fuel flows into the crankcase oil pan along the cylinder wall, causing the oil level to rise.
4. If the temperature of the diesel engine is too high, the oil will become thinner, resulting in an increase in the oil flowing to the combustion chamber, and carbon deposits are likely to form at the fuel injection nozzle, causing the diesel engine to ignite spontaneously or run rough. If the fuel injector assembly is severely worn or stuck, it will cause malfunctions such as poor atomization and oil dripping, and incompletely burned diesel will run along the cylinder wall.

5. For some reasons, the connector of the fuel injector is stuck or ablated, resulting in poor atomization or water injection during the injection of the fuel injector, so that the diesel cannot be fully mixed with the air. Part of the diesel fuel will flow into the crankcase along the cylinder wall, resulting in oil The amount of diesel oil increased. When this type of failure occurs, the diesel engine exhausts smoke (white smoke or black smoke) severely.

6. Pistons, piston rings, and cylinder liners are severely worn, the diesel engine is not working properly, and the combustion is incomplete, causing excess diesel to run along the cylinder wall.

7. Flowing into the oil pan, the fuel injection time of the injector is incorrect, resulting in incomplete combustion, and excess diesel fuel along the cylinder wall.

8. It flows into the oil pan, the fuel injector nozzle removes carbon deposits, or the nozzle is severely worn or stuck, resulting in poor atomization, dripping, and incomplete combustion of diesel fuel along the cylinder wall.

9. Diesel flows into the oil sump. For unit pump diesel engines, if the O-ring on the unit pump is damaged (aged or damaged, etc.) and loses its sealing performance, the diesel will flow into the oil sump through the roller tappet under the unit pump.
