1. Excessive oil filling of flood control diesel engine water pump unit. Due to the blind filling of engine oil, the pressure in the crankcase is high, resulting in leakage of all parts. Therefore, when filling the oil, pay attention to add it to the middle of the upper and lower limits of the oil dipstick.

2. The air filter is blocked, causing excessive oil consumption. Because the air filter is not cleaned and replaced during use, the safety filter element is blocked due to water and oil pollution, the air inlet is not smooth, and a large amount of crankcase waste gas and oil are sucked into the cylinder, resulting in excessive oil consumption.

3. The oil grade does not meet the requirements. If the viscosity of ordinary diesel engine oil is too small, the fault of excessive oil consumption will also occur, and it is easy to cause early wear and burning of bearing bush. Please do not use ordinary diesel engine oil.

4. Oil leakage at the compressor end of supercharger. Some users do not carry out diesel generating set maintenance according to the regulations, and the air filter is seriously blocked, resulting in excessive working load. A pressure drop is formed from the air filter to the intake pipe. Due to the pressure drop, leakage occurs at the compressor end of the supercharger. Therefore, pay attention to cleaning and replacing the air filter element to make the air inlet unobstructed. Individual users do not pay attention to the use of the supercharger. They slam the accelerator when starting the diesel generator set in the morning and slam the accelerator before flameout. These operations are easy to cause damage to the oil seal of the supercharger, resulting in oil leakage and increased oil consumption.

5. Oil leakage. The front oil seal of the crankshaft of Volvo diesel generator set leaks oil, and there are many such faults. The crankshaft oil seal of the unit is a skeleton rubber oil seal, and there is oil leakage due to the quality problems of installation and oil seal. It is suggested to change the installation method and adopt the imported crankshaft front oil seal or the oil seal matched by the manufacturer. The changed installation method is: disassemble the oil seal seat, install the oil seal and then install the machine.

6. The blockage of oil-gas separator is also the cause of excessive oil consumption. The crankcase exhaust pipe is connected to the oil-gas separator, which can maintain the good lubrication performance of the engine oil, prolong the service life of the engine oil, maintain the good condition of each lubricating friction surface, reduce the wear and corrosion of machine parts, keep the pressure in the engine body basically equal to the external air pressure, reduce the leakage of engine oil and recycle the mixed exhaust gas, Improve the economy of the engine and reduce environmental pollution. The ventilation device of crankcase shall be cleaned frequently during maintenance to prevent blockage.

7. The piston, piston ring and cylinder wall of the air compressor are seriously worn, and the oil is discharged from the exhaust valve. In case of such failure, there is oil in the air circuit, resulting in serious damage to all valves. If there is oil flowing out of the drainage from the air reservoir, replace the piston, piston ring and cylinder of the air compressor to keep the clearance normal.

8. Early wear and blow by of cylinder liner are also the reasons for high oil consumption.
