1. Color

The color of qualified 0# light diesel oil is generally light yellow or yellow, or with a green head. Today, many national diesel oil is white, clear and transparent. If 0# light diesel oil is found to be turbid, black or colorless, it is mostly unqualified.

2. Taste

The qualified 0# light diesel has greasy smell or pungent smell. If there is odor, most of them are unqualified.

3. Density

At room temperature, the specific gravity of 0 # light diesel oil is about 0.85. If the density is too high, it means that the dry point of the diesel oil is too high, and the engine is prone to incomplete combustion, black smoke and carbon deposition during normal operation; If it is too low, it means that the low carbon content of the diesel is too much, and the diesel generator set is prone to knock, weak acceleration or low flash point during normal operation. If the above phenomena can be detected by densitometer or found in the process of use, it can be preliminarily determined that the diesel quality is defective.

4. Flash point

The flash point is an indicator to measure the ignition risk of diesel fuel. The lower the flash point, the greater the risk of ignition. The flash point required by the national standard is 55 ℃ (closed). However, as long as a small part of low boiling point hydrocarbon is mixed into it, its boiling point will drop suddenly, which is particularly sensitive. Therefore, flash point meter can be used for measurement if conditions permit, which is simple and convenient.

5. Freezing point

The mark of diesel oil is based on the freezing point. Therefore, as the name implies, the freezing point of 0 # light diesel oil is 0 ℃. In summer, the climate is hot, and the average temperature is above 20 ℃. Therefore, the high freezing point will not have too much impact on the diesel generator set. However, in winter, if the freezing point is too high, the oil pipe of the diesel generator set will be blocked and flameout.

When 400kva generator is found to have the above faults or the diesel used is waxed, it can be determined that the diesel is unqualified. Introduce a common method: take about 200mL of diesel oil into a clean and dry plastic bottle with a volume of about 300mL, cover and wrap it, put it in the refrigerator and freeze it for 1-2 hours. Insert a thermometer with appropriate measuring range into the bottle, let the diesel oil dissolve, measure its melting point, and you can know whether the diesel oil is qualified.

At present, the diesel oil quality standard in the market mainly adopts the national standard GB19147-2016. Light diesel oil can be divided into 7 brands, including 10#, 5#, 0#, - 10#, - 20#, - 35# and - 50#, according to the freezing point.
