When 600kW Volvo genset is working, many parts slide or rotate relatively at a high speed under a certain load, such as piston and cylinder liner, crankshaft and bearing, etc. Although the surfaces of these parts are lubricated to varying degrees, with the increase of working time, the contact surfaces must be worn due to friction, which gradually destroys the original size and geometry. In addition, the temperature in summer is high and the humidity in the air is very high. This weather in summer is easy to cause some adverse factors to the operation of diesel generator:

1. In summer, when 600kW diesel generator works, a certain amount of oxygen in the air will be less than usual. The advance angle of the fuel pump of the diesel engine is too large or too small, resulting in incomplete combustion of the fuel. In this way, it is easy to reduce the combustion of the fuel, thus affecting the power.

2. In summer, the temperature is high and the water temperature is easy to get higher, which leads to the decrease of heat dissipation effect of 600kW diesel generator, and the power is also affected. In addition, the high humidity in the air in summer will affect the air intake of air filter of diesel generator, which will also lead to the decrease of unit power.

3. The purity of fuel oil is not high and the combustion rate is not high. In this case, we should replace with genuine diesel oil.

4. If the engine lubricating oil is not used accurately, the engine oil with high consistency should be used in summer, which is not easy to damage the diesel engine.

5. The air filter is blocked or dirty, resulting in insufficient intake of air, which leads to power reduction. Users need to clean the air filter regularly or replace the filter element, etc.

6. The fuel filter is blocked or dirty, and the fuel injection quantity is not enough, so the power decreases. The three oil filters (air filter, fuel filter and oil filter) of diesel unit need to be cleaned regularly to ensure the normal operation of the machine. After using for a period of time, replace the filter element or the whole filter as necessary.

7. Another possible reason for the unit power decrease is the incorrect ignition time, which needs to be adjusted.

After overhaul, the air filter may be unclean, the oil supply advance angle is too large and too small, the exhaust pipe is blocked, the piston and cylinder liner are strained, the fuel system is faulty, the cylinder head group is faulty, the cooling and lubrication system is faulty, and the surface of connecting rod shaft and crankshaft connecting rod journal is roughened.

How to solve the power shortage of diesel engine after overhaul? 

The solution is simple. If the filter is not clean, clean the diesel air filter core and remove the dust on the paper filter element. If necessary, replace the filter element with a new one. Troubleshooting of exhaust pipe blockage: first, we check whether there is too much dust accumulated in the exhaust pipe of diesel generator set. Generally, the back pressure of the exhaust pipe is not more than 3.3kpa. Usually, we can always pay attention to cleaning the dust of the lower exhaust pipe. If the oil supply is too large or too small, we should check whether the screw of the fuel injection drive shaft coupling is loose, Loosen the requirements for installing the engine oil supply shaft and tighten the screws.
